Sensory Bottles
Funded Aug 13, 2021it has been an incredibly difficult year so far emotionally and academically for our students.
Thankfully with your help and support we have been able to give some hope and teach important skills to our students such as coping with negative feelings and self regulating their emotions.
Our students were so excited to use all the supplies we received especially the materials to create our sensory bottles.
It's very hard to describe the joy I have witnessed during these few minutes I spend with my students teaching them about their emotions and creating our little bottles, so from the bottom of my heart I tha”

Funded Nov 23, 2020these supplies have been essentials these past few months in helping our students. We have seen a steep rise in anxiety and mental health concerns in our youth, and thanks to your generous donations, we have been able to help and support them.
We had a very successful first few days once we received the supplies, especially the spike rings and fidget toys. I gave one to a student who was having a panic attack and that day, kids kept coming up to me and asking me for those as they were all struggling and didn't know something so small could have such an impact on their day.
We already ran out of them, and I am already thinking about the next anti-stress tools we could provide them.
So thank you so so so much for all of these.”

Funded Sep 6, 2020thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this project a reality. Students now have a beautiful engaging setting in our therapy room, and always feel welcomed to share about themselves, their fears, worries and joy!
The sand tray has been the biggest success for our students! Everyone coming in wants to use it! This has allowed more of our students to open up, more easily than before and making counseling "fun" even when discussing things that "aren't so fun" to them.
We will continue to use all those resources to enhance their social- emotional learning and continue to support them academically and emotionally.”

Funded Oct 25, 2019we can't thank you enough for your generosity and helping get those art supplies. It's been amazing to see how our students respond to it. They get excited the moment they get into the therapy space, instead of being afraid or silent. This has helped them tremendously to open up more and work through some of their challenges. They loved the masks and exploring different feelings with them. They also loved the apron. Each student that came in got a chance to write anonymously on it, a small little positive message to empower each other. I have loved seeing them flourish in front of my eyes, every single minute.
So thank you from the bottom of my heart, on behalf of our students (and their parents!).”

Our Safe Place: Helping Children Achieve Their Best Potential
Funded Sep 12, 2019The gift of giving and the gift of receiving is one of the most important value I try to instill in our students in the school, especially as the school's guidance counselor.
We are now able to read about feelings, how to recognize and correctly label our emotions, how to express them in appropriate ways and how to recognize when someone else might need help. The tent, plants, mirror, books and therapeutic games we now use with our students thanks to your donation is helping make sure that everyone has a safe place where they can go to, and the right tools to help them express themselves and achieve their goals.
One of my students was struggling with her self esteem, she came in to the room feeling really down and not in a good place mentally. After sitting on the soft rug for a few minutes, touching it and being able to ground herself, she was able to breathe a little better and we could finally work on herself and help address her needs. Before ending the session, she looked at herself in the mirror and said "I can do it. Today will be a great day". This is why I do what I do.
It is impossible for me to describe the pure joy and excitement that the children felt when opening those big boxes with all the goods inside. It is a wonderful feeling that I hope everyone can experience at least once in their life.”

Ms. Chloe
