Aside from the many educational apps available, the iPads will serve as a way for students to reflect on their work. For instance, in reading students will use the iPads to record themselves as they independently read. They will play back the recording so they can hear if they've decoded challenging words correctly, comprehended the story and more! In Writing, students can take pictures of their stories and have their peers comment on their work. Student-led digital portfolios, think FB timeline or SnapChat story but for families and students! Students take charge by choosing their best work, uploading it on a safe and private account that only members of the family can see. They can like or comment on each post, creating a wonderful way to keep parents connected! Digital portfolios also reduce paper clutter for teachers and can be easily referenced back to during conferences and meetings. So please help upgrade our class and our learning experience!
