Supporting Unique Learners!
Funded Nov 8, 2018In the few short weeks, since our class received the tools that you all funded, I have truly seen my students grow. All of the books, academic supports, and tools have been incorporated into our daily schedule. It has been so nice to watch the kids use these tools, and succeed while using them.
I have been able to develop guided centers to support the curriculum. I have seen my students become excited when picking their books for the week, because we have so many new options! Most importantly, I have been able to watch some of my students practice their independence, for the first time this year, when using the mathematics games. It is nice to see how their confidence has grown when playing these games but also, I love seeing how it is carrying over into their everyday mathematic knowledge. For anyone that knows my students, you know this is a big deal. It is so rewarding to see my students improving everyday. I love seeing how proud they are of themselves.
Thank you all so much for your "speedy" support with this project! (This project was funded in less than 48 hours!!) I could not do what I do everyday without you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Chaplin
Classroom Supplies for Rising Stars!
Funded Aug 22, 2018Dear Donors,
I can't believe its been almost 2 months since we started school, and I have to say thank you, to you, for that! Your generous and supportive donations to my project, allowed the start of the school year to get off on the right foot. Your donations provided comfort for our class, learning materials, and supplies we did not have.
When I first showed the class all the new cushions for them to sit on, they were so excited! When we have group lessons, or the kids want a comfortable place to use their tablets or independently read, they run right over to the colorful cushions and grab them! They have really made a difference in our room!
In addition to the cushions, the books, math and literacy games, and educational tools for the room, have made each day in school that much better. Finding books at the level we requested is very difficult, so when we brought new books into our classroom library this year, the whole class was thrilled!
Again, I cannot thank you all enough for your generous donations to this project. Donors Choose is a wonderful company. I am so lucky to know, people like you, are so eager and willing to help children get the education they deserve!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Chaplin
This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and 11 other donors.New Year, New Classroom, New Kiddos!
Funded Aug 18, 2017I cannot thank you all enough for your incredibly kind and generous donations. This year I was placed in a brand new classroom and knew I needed to get certain furniture and supplies. Your donations of helped me set the classroom up and make sure it's a fun and interactive place for my students.
Each and every day we are using the storage center and the whiteboard to help us learn in a very hands on way. Being that we have three different grades in the classroom, the storage containers really help us stay organized and allow easy access to all the different academic centers. The children are excited to go up to the containers and choose whatever center they would like. The whiteboard in the back of the room allows us to have small group, as well as whole class lessons, where kids can come up to the board and use it.
Additionally, the crayons and other supplies are things that we use every single day in all subjects. By donating, you have helped make this year so much more successful and accessible for my students.
Without the supplies and the furniture, our classroom would not be the same this year!
Be on the look out for more donors choose projects!
Thank you all so much!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Chaplin
S&S: Supplies and Seating Needed!
Funded Oct 3, 2015When my students and I received the package of all the brand new, donated goods for our classroom, our mouths dropped open. Working at a school with limited funds and supplies can really take a toll on the success of your overall school year.
When my students put together the new foam tiles, and were able to sit/lay on the tiles during whole class and independent learning, the overall vibe of our classroom changed. Before, my students refused to come sit on the bare floor as it was uncomfortable and not the cleanest. When we brought the new foam tiles into the room, we created a whole group seating area and had extra tiles the kids used to sit on for independent reading and small group work.
While this was my first donors choose project, I look forward to creating more projects for my future classrooms!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Chaplin
