We are starting a new school year soon that will be very important after such a long time out of the classroom environment. Due to redistricting, 50% of our students will be brand new to our school, which can be very scary especially for 5th graders who are leaving the friends they have had since kindergarten. I want them to come into an organized, peaceful environment to help ease that transition. Reading and math levels range from kindergarten to college level. They are so motivated to learn. There are some that I fear I may lose if they don't learn how to read fluently and perform basic math very soon. They are at an age where peer acceptance and fitting in is so important and critical in their success from now on. We attend a public Title 1 school in Oklahoma.
