Gift Cards to Enhance Learning
Funded Jan 28, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations to make my project come to life! Having gift cards has allowed me to purchase resources from teachers pay teachers and post them on our google classroom. I have been able to share work with my students both in class as well as virtually for those who've had to learn remotely.
These assignments have been extremely beneficial to the students. Teaching a dual language class the creativity of the those creating the material on teachers pay teachers has motivated my students to want to learn more. They look forward to the vibrant colors and the creativity put into both the slides, worksheets and assignments.
I've noticed during Choice Time, students often times go back into their google classroom and correct/edit any work they feel they are able to do so. Having these resources added into our classroom has made learning so much more fun for my students. They always wonder what they'll be surprised with next!”

Basic Supplies for Success!
Funded Sep 23, 2021Words can't express how grateful my first graders and I are to all of you. Many of our students completed kindergarten fully remote last year. Providing them with a sufficient amount of folders and notebooks helped them learn organization faster this school year. Color-coded folders are used for different subjects allowing them to transition quickly from one task to the next.
When students learned of the generous donors who helped us get folders, notebooks, pencils, crayons, and colored pencils they couldn't believe it. They couldn't believe that 'strangers' were so generous and cared about their education. I wish you could have seen the smiles on their beautiful faces!
Alongside the folders and notebooks, each child was provided with a Ziploc bag with crayons and colored pencils. These have been and will continue being used for art projects. It's great that each student was given the same amount of crayons and colored pencils. Sometimes students feel bad when they have an 8 pack of crayons brought from home and somebody else brought a 24 count. Not this year though....all were provided with the same school supplies the first day of school. Wow, and let's not forget the pencils. Students NEVER worry about not having one! Thank you so much.”

Funded Dec 2, 2020Words can't express how thankful we are to you! This year has been one like no other and having reading materials for students at their fingertips was what made it very successful for us.
Throughout the school year, I was able to provide students with reading packets to take back and forth. These packets wouldn't have been possible without your support and help to get the TpT gift cards. Having the funds on the gift cards allowed me to search the site and purchase material that was relevant to what students were learning. It also allowed me to purchase materials that were specifically for 1 or 2 students who needed more reading support. My 2nd graders were able to show growth in reading with the increased shared reading that took place both in my classroom and remotely. Parents, students and myself loved that students were provided with materials ahead of the unit that they'd work with throughout. Folders went home and to school allowing students to always be prepared.
As I mentioned, our success this school year wouldn't have been possible without your help. We truly appreciate your help with our education. We are a team!”

Funded Sep 2, 2020Thank you for helping me share a basket of rich texts with my second graders. Living in a world where equality and justice isn't always the case, read alouds allow us to discuss topics such as diversity, equality and respect. As a 2nd grade teacher, many topics that deal with inequality aren't in our curriculum. I'm able to introduce topics then make text to self connections as well as text to world connections. Students are able to discuss situations they've experienced with the class and understand how things could've been dealt with differently.
After daily literacy lessons, students have independent reading. My students are all on different reading levels, however; the colorful illustrations allow them to understand character feelings and what's happening on each page.Unfortunately, this year we are unable to do partner reading because of social distancing requirements. Students are able to make book suggestions and share their opinions about a story without giving too much information. After the book has been placed in the quarantine basket and cleaned, other students look forward to borrowing it when placed back in its basket.
Many of my students have happily pointed out that the characters look like us. It motivates them to read them more! Once again, thank you for your generosity!”

Help Keep Us Safe!
Funded Aug 26, 2020I'd like to thank you for all the PPE you helped purchase for my students! Words can't express how grateful we are. Living in these uncertain times, having PPE stored within our classroom has provided families, students and myself with a peace of mind.
As an educator it feels amazing when a student knows that they are in a safe environment. I recall one of my student's facial expressions when she realized the strap to her mask broke. I told her it was okay and showed her where she can get a new one. This wouldn't have been possible without your help. Students are able to clean their work area a few times a day. We have plenty of hand sanitizer all around our classroom. They don't have to line up in the same area and wait.
Once again, thank you so much!!!! This could never have been possible without such generous donors like yourself!”

Help Students With Creativity!
Funded May 14, 2019My students and I can't thank you enough for helping us get art and writing materials. Upon unpacking the boxes, students began to shout with excitement. While some speak fluent English and others speak minimal English they are all able to express themselves equally through art. They enjoyed and continue enjoying themselves by creating things using the clay.
Starting a new year, my students already know the expectations of revision and editing their writing pieces. This has been made possible thanks to the writing supplies you helped us get. Thanks for helping us begin a new school year the best we could!”

Funded Nov 15, 2018Thank you very much for helping us get writing resources for the classroom. Having writing binders has allowed students to take ownership of their work. After completing writing rubrics, I write next steps for students to focus on. With writing binders, they are able to look at their hi-lighted rubrics and understand how they can improve their writing. After reaching a writing goal, they immediately know what to focus on next.
Upon receiving the boxes with writing resources, students became extremely excited! They were amazed at all of the new materials they had access to. When I explained to them how nice donors were to help fund our project they were in complete shock! They couldn't believe there were people who would help children learn without knowing who they were. Knowing and understanding that point, made opening the boxes so much more important to them. It truly felt like a moment both they and I would never forget!
We are currently writing Realistic Fiction Stories. Students are in the process of revising the stories they wrote on their yellow draft papers with 'magical pencils' (colored pencils). After we publish our Realistic Fiction Stories, students will then continue writing with a focus on opinion writing.
Thank you for your generosity! Your continuous support helps students achieve great things!”

Flexible Seating = Increase in Collaborative Learning!
Funded Aug 17, 2018Words cannot express how thankful my students and I are to you! Helping to fund my project has allowed students to have access to more seating options throughout the day. Students learning stamina has increased because of being provided with additional choices. They understand that in our classroom, their comfort is a key factor to learning.
Having Wobble Stools in our classrooms allows students to move their bodies while working. Our classroom's low desk, not only provides comfort for students who prefer to work there but the chairs are adjustable. They are able to raise them or lower them as they feel the need to. Students love the bean bags. They can work sitting up or lying down.
Giving students options in the classroom are skills they will not only use today but for the rest of their lives. Adjusting to different work environments is a key point to being successful in the future. Students are able to understand themselves better as learners and this will help them in the long term. Thank you for all of your help. This wouldn't have been possible without your generosity.”

Help 2nd Graders Express Their Creativity in Various Ways
Funded Nov 27, 2015Words cannot express how thankful I am to you! My students have used and continue to use the materials during choice time that you helped fund. We have just finished a unit on Life Cycles in Nature and Insects and my 2nd graders were able to mold insects as well as paint different cycles. Looking at their Artwork allows for them to explain their thinking in a different way. It also shows me what they understood and what they still need help with.
When my students received the materials, they were extra excited! I had told them about how lucky we were to get our project funded by such caring people. The looks on their faces were priceless! They were seeing materials that they had never seen before or even heard of. After seeing everything, they couldn't wait to use it!
Beginning new units, we are now looking forward to making dioramas for immigration. Our dioramas will be created with all of the materials you helped fund. Students will tell and show the story of immigration in their projects.
Once again, we are extremely thankful to you for helping fund our project. The arts is an incredible way for students to express themselves especially when there is a language barrier. Thank you for making that form of expression possible for my 2nd graders!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Carrion
Help English Language Learners Grasp Complex Text
Funded Jan 6, 2015Words can't describe how thankful my students and I are for your generous donation! I recall when they initially found out about the proposal. They didn't really show any emotions because they didn't think it was possible. Then we returned after the holiday break. After they shared their exciting news about how they spent the holidays it was my turn to share. When I told them that our project was fully funded they couldn't believe it! One student raised her hand and told the class "it's still Christmas for us!" Watching their excitement actually brought me to tears. They realized that what seemed impossible was actually possible after all.
My students have been using the wireless headphones primarily during small group instruction. They actually look forward to their turn at the listening center because they know that now there's more time for listening and less time for setting up. We have also used them to listen to stories on the classroom computers. During independent work time, students listen to classical music. This has been made possible by using the radio you helped to fund.
Thanks to these materials, my time management has improved. I no longer have to stop working with a group to untangle wires at the listening center. Most importantly, students feel a sense of pride for their independent achievements. The importance of responsibility has also increased in our class. All of these accomplishments wouldn't have been possible if there weren't such generous people such as yourselves. Thank you once again and please continue changing lives.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Carrion
