Bare Necessities: Classroom Basics for Success!
Funded Aug 25, 2024Our students are absolutely loving our materials! When I first showed them all our new games, their faces were filled with pure shock! The various center games have come in so handy in our Literacy and Math center rotations. Students work on building their fluency in fun, engaging ways!
We've used the other materials in so many ways to help us set up the classroom and routines. Chart paper and markers have helped us with our student-made anchor charts. i-Pad chargers have helped us to charge i-Pads to use i-Ready in centers. The mesh bags have been labeled and given out as pencil cases.
Our next steps in our classroom is to continue engaging both our general education and special education students through hands-on activities using our new games and materials purchased through Teachers Pay Teachers.”

Funded Jun 8, 2023I can't even begin to explain the excited looks on my students faces as these deliveries came in! My students were most excited for the box filled with new games for math and literacy centers. They all started calling out which game they could play first!
The headphones, surge protector, and iPad chargers have already come in handy as students continue to use their iPads in the classroom to reinforce or enrich our topics from the year.
The students who warmed to these materials in particular are my English Language Learners and Special Education students. Being able to have these materials to enhance their learning via technology was so exciting for them, as are the games.
Thank you again for your generous donations. We can't wait to wrap up our school year with our new materials.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you again for your generosity in donating to our classroom. My students were so excited when I opened all the boxes to show them our new materials! The look on their faces were priceless; shock and excitement at the same time!
My students have been loving the various literacy center materials during our center time! The hands-on materials and literacy games have really helped show an improvement in their reading and phonics skills. The sensory materials, such as headphones and fidgits, have helped my students focus to complete their work.
We're looking forward to continuing our center work in our classroom, with the help of these games and activities. Thank you again for your generous donations to help my students learn and have fun too!”

Funded Nov 30, 2021We've had such a great few weeks here in Kindergarten! After receiving all my wonderful materials, I took a few weeks to put everything together! I build my cart, found amazing materials through Teachers Pay Teachers, and put together all the new task box activities.
Once everything was ready to go, we slowly introduced different centers to the Kindergarten students, giving them time to learn them both with and without adult support!
It's been so helpful and so wonderful to see my students working together with their peers to not only build their literacy and math fluency, but also have fun doing it thanks to these new additions to my classroom. I can't thank you enough for allowing this to happen for us!”

Funded Sep 11, 2019Our classroom has really changed for the better since this Donors Choose project! We've been so busy learning, and having the tablets to help reinforce what we've learned throughout each week! We've been using the tablets to help us with our numbers 0-10; comparing numbers greater and less than, and counting and writing numbers. We've also used our tablets in Literacy, practicing all the new letters we learn each week! We also love the new headphones, and the charging lock box has been so easy to keep the tablets charged and organized.
The product our students are most excited about is definitely the tablets! They get so excited when it's time to work in centers and use them. It's also been a nice treat for our students who attend Saturday Academy to use them too.
The students who benefit most from this new addition to our classroom has been our students with disabilities. This has helped our tactile, visual, and auditory learners, as the feeling of touching the screen, or listening to the sounds on headphones, has been helpful to them and their learning. Thank you so much!”

Funded May 7, 2019We've been so thankful to have our new tablets, headphones, and charging base in our first grade classroom. The look on my students faces every time we introduce tablets throughout the day has been priceless!
The students are most excited about the tablets! They are used in so many different ways throughout the day, from building sight word fluency to addition and subtraction fluency!
Our ENL students, students with disabilities, and tactile learners have really been impacted the most, as it's given them a way to learn that benefits them most.
We are so grateful, thanks for your generosity!”

Funded Nov 18, 2018My students loved the flexible seating! They couldn't believe their eyes when they walked into our classroom to see all their new options! It took some getting used to, as well as an explanation about the expectations as learn in our classroom, but they are loving it!
The students enjoy wobbling while sitting in the wobble chair, and they feel like it really helped them improve their focus! The trays are great for small groups that work on the rug.
We are looking for more great ways to incorporate flexible seating in our classroom! Thank you again!”

Keeping the Wheels of Science Turning
Funded Nov 29, 2017Our school had so much fun on the BioBus! Each grade had their own unique experience, studying and learning different topics such as looking at bug bodies, shapes, and microscopic ecosystems! We enjoyed two days of the BioBus visiting our school, each class getting one hour aboard the bus!
One highlight that students got to enjoy was using the microscope by themselves! Students got a chance to zoom in and out on the microscopes and focus in on the slides, whether it was a pencil, bugs, seaweed! They also enjoyed recording what they saw through the microscopes.
The lasting impact for HHS is that BioBus is coming back! We are working to schedule another visit with them, since our students had such a great time!”
