More Books Please
Funded Jul 26, 2019Thank you all so much for these awesome books. Students are enjoying reading them. It truly is making a difference during our independent reading time. Students are excited to pick and read these books from our classroom library, which is now even more awesome thanks to your generous contributions. I honestly am no longer hearing, "I can't find a book I like." Thank you for helping me engage my students with thoughtful, culturally relevant books.
I truly appreciate having students who have labeled themselves as nonreaders telling me that they love the book that they are reading and that they do not hate reading: WOW-so amazing! Thank you for helping our classroom continue to cultivate a love of reading.”

Funded Apr 25, 2019Thank you so much for your support, the binding materials truly made a difference in how my students approached reflecting on their work throughout the year. It was an amazing experience to witness how students talked about their growth and saw for themselves the changes that took place within their work.
Students worked together to make their books which was also great to see how well they helped one another out. Students also pushed themselves creatively to make sure that their bound books represented their personality. What a great way to end the year. Thank you for making this work possible. I know that my students walked away with a great representation of their 6th grade year.”

Funded Mar 31, 2019You have truly made a difference in my classroom. You have helped to bring my students' projects to life. You have given a voice to their projects and allowed for those projects to have an audience. With the additional chromebooks we have more access to technology. Students are excited to complete their work on these chromebooks. They were so engaged with the visual speeches they created and they loved being able to present in small groups using the splitters. This work would not have been possible without your generous support.
As we move into different units, students are constantly seeking ways to use the chromebooks as a way to further their creativity, as well as to further their understanding. These chromebooks have allowed students to take ownership of their learning. If they have a question about the poetry of Langston Hughes, they have the access to do additional research. If they are excited about a poem they wrote and want to type it up so that they can share it with family members, they have the ability to do so. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom, our learning, and for believing in us.”

Funded Mar 12, 2019Thank you so much for these very fun and incredibly educational hands-on resources. My students and I truly appreciate having the Nintendo Labo kits, and Nintendo Switch to create, play, and explore with. My students are always excited for club days when they know they can use our club time to explore, and build. They love being able to use a video game system as a way to design their own creations. We are having so much fun learning together. Thank you for making this work possible and sparking so much creativity through your generosity.”

Funded Mar 18, 2019Thank you so much for the awesome, beautiful plants. They truly have made a difference in the classroom and have inspired students to want to grow their own plants. My students are not afraid to get their hands dirty and thanks to your generous support they look forward to doing so. They are also excited by the idea of being able to code and get a reading on when the plants need water. We are still working on making sure our codes work and we are still trying out many different variations, but it is incredible how my students are blown away by being able to connect something natural with something that is technology related.
Thank you so much for giving us the tools to be creative, the resources to beautify our space, and the inspiration to code.”

Funded Feb 20, 2019Wow...thank you from all of my students and myself for investing in their learning! You have inspired them to become more generous through your example. The computer and protective case have been very influential in sparking the creativity in each of my students.
Through this resource my students were able to create thoughtful, creative call to action speeches. Speeches that I had the opportunity to see this past week as students presented their work. Work that would not have been possible without your generosity.
It is so powerful to witness my students transformed into individuals taking increased ownership for their learning and becoming more aware of the world around them. This resource has provided outlets for my students to further their knowledge and understanding of the world in ways they would not otherwise be able to do. This is because of your generosity. For this, we are all very thankful!”

Funded Jan 26, 2019Thank you so much for your support and these much needed resources. They truly have made a difference in how my students access information and how they approach their "Call to Action" speeches. Students love being able to do additional research and having the ability to listen to each presentation. This would not have been possible without the Chromebooks and the headphones.
These resources have truly furthered my students' understanding of current issues and have inspired them to think beyond their neighborhoods. Having the headphones has allowed my students to listen attentively to one another and give each other thoughtful feedback.
Thank you so much for helping to further our learning and understanding of current issues.”

Funded Jan 11, 2019Thank you so much for the additional Chromebook. It is making such a difference in how students are accessing information, and how they are approaching their work. With the Chromebook in the classroom, students have instant access to additional research, access to Google Classroom assignments, and access to online collaboration with their peers.
The headphones are making such a difference as well. Students can access videos, lesson tutorials, and in the case of our speeches, they were able to listen to their classmates' speech and assist in the editing process. It is incredible to see how these resources are transforming our learning.
Thank you for making this work possible.”

Funded Jan 11, 2019Thank you so much for the addition of the Chromebooks into my classroom. They truly are making a difference in how my students are interacting with the curriculum and how they are approaching the work that they are doing. We recently completed our call to action speeches and this work would not have been possible if we did not have these resources.
My students truly enjoy being able to quickly access information on a topic that they care strongly about. They also appreciate having this technology so that they are able to be creative with the projects that they are turning in. My students loved having the option of being able to create a visual component to their speech as well as having their speeches digitized.
Thank you for allowing me to make learning more engaging.”

Funded Dec 23, 2018Thank you so much for the chromebooks. My students love the fact that we have access to technology on a daily basis. This has been incredibly helpful as they seek to know more about the current unit of study that we are in. Additionally, having these chromebooks has allowed me to venture into using not only Google Classroom, but using programs such as NearPod to engage students with learning. With these chromebooks, student engagement is high. These resources have also allowed me to be more thoughtful and creative in how I am presenting information to my students. Thank you so much for your support. We really appreciate it.”
