First grade looks very different this year. Even though my students are home, sitting in front of a computer, I would love for them to feel as though they are actually in the classroom. In addition to my laptop, placing my phone on a tripod in various places around the room will allow the students to see the room and lessons from a variety of angles. The monitor will help facilitate my online virtual learning by allowing me to interact with my students as I am sharing materials with them via my laptop.
First graders learn best with hands on activities. I will be creating learning center boxes for my students. These boxes will contain games and activities I create and laminate for each child. These boxes will then be able to go home to each of the students. My fabulous first graders will have manipulatives, supplies and games at their fingertips. These will also be used when the students return to the classroom but are unable to share materials.
