  • Game On!

    Funded Mar 20, 2019

Thank you for your support of this exciting project! Learning critical life skills from an early age is no small task, and I have seen students incredibly engaged in their learning when using games to support during small group and other instructional times. Some of the favorite games so far have been Hi Ho Cherry O, Ker Plunk, Yeti in my Spaghetti, and all of the puzzles have been a hit! Whenever we bring out a new games, the students light up and are excited to learn how to play! I know this donation will have lasting impacts on my students, and I am greatly appreciative of your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Walker

  • Listening to Learn!

    Funded Feb 26, 2019

Thank you for your ongoing support of our district, EC program, and classroom. Your donation has provided support for many students to access the gift of literacy early on. Building a love of reading is a foundational skill for school success, career success, leadership, and many other aspects of life. A great number of students have loved the surprise involved with E-books and it provides such a great amount of independence to them. Since we've brought this center to our classroom, I have seen growth in the students' pre-reading skills and have listened to them recite the stories afterward! Thank you, again!”

  • Listening for Early Literacy

    Funded Nov 27, 2018

Thank you for your support of our listening center project! This new center in our classroom has been excellent to engage some of our students who are typically more difficult to reach. Even with short, preschool attention spans this center has been a hit! Our students have listened to books for almost all of free-play time for the past two weeks! It has been exciting to see students make new friendships as they share a book and listen together. Even after leaving this center, I see our students picking out more books and literacy materials out of genuine interest. Thank you, again, for continually supporting the growth and education of the youngest learners!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Walker

  • Learning Through Play: 21st Century Edition

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for your donations leading to the funding of our new projector! We are so excited to be one of the few preschool classrooms in our district with this innovative technology. The addition of this technology to our classroom has greatly increased classroom engagement during lessons in the areas of: math, literacy, and social emotional learning. We like to use the projectors interactive features to explore inquiry questions and answer our question of the day. On a typical day, we use the projector for songs and games in the morning, to help us with math visuals, and again at story time. It has been such a treat to watch the students' excitement during lessons and brain breaks using the projector's features. Again, thank you for your support of our students!”

  • Heads Up, Preschool!

    Funded Apr 26, 2018

Thank you for donating the funds to assist our EC center purchase new helmets for the playground. Our students use multiple therapy bikes, trikes, scooters, etc. and the helmets are a must-have to keep them safe. In our preschool program, we emphasize safety throughout the day and ask the students to learn to monitor as well. It is detrimental to show our students exactly how important they are to us by confirming their safety matters, too. Our students have LOVED the new helmets and certain colors are always a hot commodity! It is incredibly heartwarming to hear the kids politely reminding each other to "keep yourself safe" by wearing a helmet. Again, thank you for your continued support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Walker

If my project is funded, an interactive Epson LCD projector will be used in my classroom to help my students daily with calming yoga, educational children's songs, and other whole-group and individual learning opportunities. The students in my classroom with specific backgrounds including those exposed to trauma, those with a high-risk for school failure, and students from dual-language backgrounds, will greatly benefit from the variety of exposure this technology has to offer. As one of the few classrooms in our district early childhood program without this classroom technology, educator trainings are becoming less and less relevant. Please help me provide my students with an accelerated start early in their educational experience.
