  • Bouncy Bands For Bouncy Teens

    Funded Jan 1, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to this project. My students are extremely lucky to have them!

Bouncy bands are the very best tool for teachers! It has changed my classroom and has created a space for all of the students to thrive for the 50 minute class period.

The students use the bouncy bands on a regular basis. Some students use them every day, others use them when they feel anxious, others use them on days when they are feeling exceptionally hyper. They have become such an important part of our classroom, that the students ask if they can take them to each class with them.

Thank you so much for donating to this project! We really appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fleming

  • Newcomers Need Biology Textbooks in Spanish!

    Funded Sep 2, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! These books came in just last week and I wish I could have video taped my students' faces when they saw them!

Our classroom uses our textbook as a resource for their learning frequently throughout the school year. The students who speak English quickly learn to love their book as resource, and now the students who are learning Spanish have a resource just for them!

Thank you so much for thinking about our classroom this school year. Your generosity has forever helped our classroom!

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fleming

  • Sheep Heart Dissection

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This is my favorite dissection every single year. This dissection allows the students to be true scientists. The heart dissection requires them to use resources to identify the blood flood and the parts of the heart. The students preservere through their tasks with smiles on their faces and feel very accomplished when its over.

Your generosity allowed even more students to identify as true scientists this year. Thank you so much for thinking about my students this school year.

    Thanks!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fleming

  • Frog Dissection!

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

Thank you do much for donating to the frog dissection project! This is always a favorite dissection for the students each year.

Your donation has given multiple students to feel empowered as a scientist. This opportunity is one that the students always remember! And it is because of our generosity that this is possible.

My favorite part about the frog dissection is having the students compare and distinguish the frog anatomy to the human body anatomy that we study in class.

Your generosity to our classroom is very much appreciated! Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fleming

  • Sheep Brain Dissection

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! The brain dissection was a new favorite among the teachers and students.

We just finished up our unit on the human brain, and specifically the teenage brain. This dissection was the final part of the unit, and the students absolutely loved it. And more importantly they learned a lot!

They had to label the brain in multiple parts, and if you walked into the classroom you would see students working together and analyzing multiple resources to get the tasks done. They were using textbooks, posters, note sheets, google, and worksheets from the unit.

The students looked and felt like scientists during this experiment. And this was only possible because of your generosity.

Thank you so much for donating!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fleming

  • Future Einsteins Need Dissection Materials

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

We used the new dissection materials last week for the first time! The students absolutely loved the new colorful goggles.

They really felt like scientists and it made my heart happy. "Look at me, I am a scientist." "Take a picture of me looking like a real scientist." "We are scientists today."

Your donations have helped 130 kids become scientists for a day, and you have given them the opportunity to engage as scientists for the rest of their high school career. And hopefully this love for science rolls over into college, when many will choose to major in a science field.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated by me and my students! Thanks so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fleming

  • 5 Steps to Becoming an Environmentalist!

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

Thank you so much for the donation! Your generosity allowed my students to have study books on day one of the school year.

Today was the first day we really took a deep dive into the questions in the book. The book allowed the students to have immediate feedback on their progress with content.

As a teacher, I am so excited that my students are lucky to have these study books as a resource. These books will be used on a regular basis in our classroom, and I am confident that they will help the students score on the AP exam in May.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

  • Environmental Crash Course!

    Funded Aug 14, 2017

Thank you so much for donating these books to our classroom!

It was so wonderful for the students to receive their very own study book on the first day of school as AP students. The students felt very valued and motivated by your generosity.

After just a few days of school, they are already utilizing the books and using them to reach their AP goals.

This year of students is a very special group because so many of them are interested in going to college majoring in science. This class is very important for them to be prepared for the college courses.

Thank you so much! I appreciate you! My students appreciate you as well!”

  • Thinking Puttty for Active Learners!

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

Thank you so much for donating to this project! The students absolutely love using the thinking putty to help them focus in the classroom.

Students who have social anxiety, ADHD, and depression are starting to feel comfortable advocating for themselves more after the implementation of the thinking putty. There are such rich conversations between me and the students about their feelings and the putty's effect on their learning.

The thinking putty is something that every child in every classroom should have access too! 8 hours a day in a high-stress, learning environment is not easy. But the thinking putty makes it so much more easier to manage for the young people in my room.

I thank you so much for donating to my project, and for supporting education.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

  • Visual Learners Need Infographic Books!

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

Thank you so much for donating these infographic books to our classroom! My co-teacher and myself have already working these great books into our lesson planning!

The books are so beautiful and full of color. But more importantly they take complex topics, and make them reachable for students. The books have up-to-date science and allow the students to grapple with current global and environmental issues in science.

I know that all of my students will love and learn lots from these books of the current and coming years.

Thank you so much for donating to this project. I cannot express how excited I am that there are donors out there who support education, science, and reading!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

    Ms. Fleming
