  • Occupational Therapy - Here, There, and Everywhere!

    I do not have enough words to thank you for your generous donations to get my students the occupational therapy tools they need. These tools have allowed them to work on their OT goals both inside and outside the classroom.

    Occupational therapy tools are mechanisms that an occupational therapist or teacher can use to assist when providing support to students. These tools provide services directly to the students to improve their ability both in and out of he classroom. Looking forward to seeing their growth this school year!”

  • Give Our Students The Gift Of Reading

    Thank you so much for your generous donations. They allowed me to purchase "The Secret Stories" which has been such a great addition to our reading and writing program. The kindergarten students absolutely love the stories and it has allowed them to remember their letter sounds and be more confident with their early literacy skills. The visuals have been a great addition to our classroom. I know that with continued practice they will continue to build their knowledge of reading and be successful in their reading journey.”

  • Flexible Seating! Choose Your Spot!

    My co teacher and I can not thank you enough for helping us give our students the tools they need to help them learn! The flexible seating has made such a difference in our first grade class. Students who struggle with focus and attention now have a tool to help them! It has made a difference during group time as well as independent work. The flexible seating options has also given them independence in choosing the type of support they need. We look forward to continuing to use these tools in the upcoming school year!”

  • Listen With Curiosity...

    Thank you so much for your contribution to help our students strengthen their literacy skills. The listening center that was purchased has been a popular addition to our literacy centers.

    Our students have become more interested in reading and it has increased their love of reading. It has especially had an impact on our special needs students and English language learners, that struggle in reading. They enjoy listening to ALL the different stories and it has helped our students develop fluency, expression, and comprehension skills.

    Your contribution has made it possible for ALL our students to increase their love or reading. They love having access to different genres of stories (fiction, non fiction, fairy tales, realistic fiction).

  • Namaste...Mindfulness and Yoga Practice for my Students

    Thank you so much for your donation which helped us get our yoga mats. Our special needs students are using their yoga mats during our yoga time. Every day after lunch we have "Yoga Class".

    During this time we work on not only physical activity (practicing our yoga poses) but also mindfulness. The students have come to look forward to "Yoga with Ms. Karen" and often times I am told that they are practicing yoga at home and showing their families what they have learned. They already have their "favorite" pose and are more than happy to show it off!

    It is my goal to not only share my passion of Yoga and Mindfulness with my own class but to be able to share it with many more students in our school.

In order to truly learn mindfulness and practice or yoga it is important for my students to have their own space to practice. It's imperative, especially with abiding by COVID-19 rules that children have their own space to practice. This will help them focus and truly be present in the moment. With everything going on in the world the practice of mindfulness and yoga will truly help our children with the unfortunate stress of everyday life as well as helping them learn in and out of the classroom. For my special needs students that also struggle with calming their body downs, regulating their emotions and strengthening their bodies they will be better able to learn.

About my class

In order to truly learn mindfulness and practice or yoga it is important for my students to have their own space to practice. With everything going on in the world the practice of mindfulness and yoga will truly help our children with the unfortunate stress of everyday life as well as helping them learn in and out of the classroom. For my special needs students that also struggle with calming their body downs, regulating their emotions and strengthening their bodies they will be better able to learn.
