  • Young Authors

    Funded Mar 20, 2015

Thank you for gifting us these tools! My students have begun to use them and are very appreciative of receiving them. They will be showcasing their published books during our upcoming Open House. They are experiencing the hard work it takes to write books. They are also learning about different parts of a book (for example; table of contents, title page, dedication page). They are also finding joy in illustrating each story. In fact, they want to use the color pencils to color every assignment given. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zaragoza

  • We are iPad Hungry

    Funded Mar 16, 2015

Thank you so much for the donation! My students were truly delighted to receive it. They couldn't believe people who didn't know them, would take the time to donate something for their class.

Our Mini iPad has served many purposes in our class. It has assisted my newcomer in learning how to read by accessing learning to read apps. My other students have had access to learning games and have become accustomed to using it. They found it easier to manage the iPads used during the Smarter Balanced exam. I have used the Mini iPad to access lessons online.

Overall, it has become an essential part of our learning and has completed made an impact in our learning. You helped make a difference.”

  • Cozy Comfy Carpet Corner For Our Class

    Funded Mar 12, 2012

I hope all is well. I just wanted to reach out and express my gratitude for your generous donations to my classroom.

The new carpet has provided the comfort that my students required in order to receive modeled and guided lessons up close and personally. It is my belief that the new carpet has decreased absenteeism as the students are less likely to suffer from allergic reactions to dust. In fact, we received a trophy in April for best attendance in our grade level. The divided in squares in the rug has also provided me with better classroom management while the students are seated.

The soft seats and canopy have provided an appealing environment for our library. It is admired by all who come in to visit our class. It both encourages and focuses our students attention on reading and comprehension. Every single one of my students' reading level has increased due to the materials we have received.

It is because of your generosity, and understanding the importance of a solid scholastic foundation for our students, that they will be able to reach their full potential. Your contributions to our students will have infinite pass on to others the necessary tools to succeed. We thank you again for your support and we look forward to the continued success of our students and your endeavors as well. ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zaragoza

My third grade students come from a low socioeconomic, educational, and professional family background. Despite circumstantial disadvantages, these students are very eager and motivated to learn and succeed. Anything that may be provided with in the classroom, they appreciate and thankfully embrace. We as professionals are the gate keepers for tomorrows leaders, and it is our duty to make sure that they have the proper environment and resources available to them. Coupled with the aforementioned and the ability and desire to learn, these students will act as beacons of light for our future.
