  • Engaged and Organized

    Funded Jan 16, 2025

Thanks to your contribution, our classroom now has a laminating machine, handheld whiteboards, a whiteboard with a stand, and desk organizers, and I'm excited to share how they've already made a difference.

The laminating machine has been a game-changer, allowing us to create long-lasting materials that students can use throughout the year. The handheld whiteboards are a hit with the students, encouraging them to participate and collaborate more during lessons. The whiteboard with a stand has been perfect for group activities and discussions, while the desk organizers have helped keep our space neat and efficient, making it easier for students to focus on learning.

Your donation has already improved the way we work in the classroom, and I'm so thankful for your generosity. These tools are making a real impact on our students, and I look forward to seeing their continued growth.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zaragoza

  • Shhh... Let's Read With Secret Stories

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution of "The Secret Stories" to our classroom. These materials have played a vital role in our small group instructional sessions. The incorporation of "The Secret Stories" has proven immensely beneficial in helping my students grasp spelling patterns and phonetic sounds, consequently bolstering their reading skills. Observing students actively engaging with these resources during reading tasks has notably facilitated sound memorization, leading to improved academic performance.”

  • We Matter

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you for your generous donation! My students are very grateful to have books to read in our classroom library. With these books, they are learning about different cultures and influential people who have made a difference in our nation. They are also learning about different holidays and why they are celebrated. Not only are these books helping my students increase their knowledge in various cultures, they are learning about others' differences and recognizing that we all matter. And on top of all that, reading is helping their reading fluency.

Every Friday we celebrate "Fun Friday" by engaging in fun literacy activities. Most of my students go directly to choose these books to read. They are really enjoying them! Thanks again for making a difference!”

  • Classroom Economy Incentives

    Funded Oct 2, 2019

Thank you for your generosity! My students were extremely happy and grateful to see everything that was donated. I informed them that most items will be set up in our monthly student store when they first saw the packages. Every month they eagerly await to see what new items will be placed in our store. They have been looking forward to the next student store because I told them I will have the Dr. Seuss pencils and erasers out. Having a monthly student store motivates my students to do well in class everyday.

As mentioned earlier, most items are part of our monthly student store. My students gain classroom money with daily tasks and receive extra as rewards. They use this money to purchase the items you have donated. Among your donation we also received game buzzers. This has been used as a fun way to review our weekly lessons. They have been entertained and engaged in showing the skills they have learned.

Ultimately I want to say we appreciate you for making a difference in our classroom and for helping me provide classroom incentives to a well deserved class.”

  • Tech Savvy Leaders

    Funded Sep 21, 2019

Thanks to your donation, our small groups run smoothly! All students can now access their chromebook's audio independently through the use of the earbuds supplied. This helps them listen to the audio better without the extra noise and distractions that occur in the classroom. This will be very helpful in preparing for the listening task in our standardized state test.

The tablets have also been put to great use, Prior to this project, we only had access to 22 chromebooks and 1 pad. That is only a total of 23 devices for my 25 students. Now all of my 25 students have access to the online sites we are using to prepare.

I already see a difference in their learning and usage of technology thanks to you!”

  • Proud Young Authors

    Funded Dec 28, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation! All items have been useful in our class. We are currently working on publishing a memory book. My students are finding great joy in this. They are realizing the hard work dedicated in creating a book. They feel so much pride and are anxiously awaiting the day they get to take it home. The construction paper was enough to use in other art activities. We created Mother's Day art projects with the construction paper, as well as thank you cards for staff during our staff appreciation week. It's been so much fun working with these supplies. Thank you for making this school year extra special for my students!”

  • Let's Be Money Wise

    Funded Jan 11, 2019

My students have been enjoying learning about money. We will be practicing using classroom economy in the class. They will each have jobs and earn money for them. They will be rewarded when doing extra in the class. This will encourage and motivate them to go above and beyond. They will also be rewarded for good behavior. At the end of the month we will have a store where they can purchase items with their money.

In addition to having economy, we are learning about the history in money with our books. We are learning how to save and earn money. There are also word problems in the books which the children solve. Overall, we are enjoying learning about money and are truly grateful for your kind heart and donation.”

  • Writers of Tomorrow

    Funded Dec 30, 2016

Thank you so much for your generosity! As soon as we received our materials, we put them to work. Our printer has helped our class print out our writing and print out copies of fancy letterheads. Another way our printer has helped has been in printing images for our writing. As you can imagine, we ran out of ink quickly, but luckily for us, we had two packages included in our project. We have not started using the blank hardcover books, but everyone is anxiously awaiting the making of their own books. I truly appreciate your support in making writing more fun and accessible in our room.”

  • Technology in the Class

    Funded Aug 31, 2016

Thank you for your donations! The use of technology in our classroom has made a great impact on my students' learning. They have become more familiar with using chromebooks. They get to use the technology during small group instruction and has helped increase both their reading and math scores.

What they find most exciting about having these items is the ownership. They don't feel a need to borrow a cart from our technology department. They are overjoyed that it is part of their classroom and no other class is as fortunate as they are. So, thank you for making a difference!”

My third grade students come from a low socioeconomic, educational, and professional family background. Despite circumstantial disadvantages, these students are very eager and motivated to learn and succeed. Anything that may be provided with in the classroom, they appreciate and thankfully embrace. We as professionals are the gate keepers for tomorrows leaders, and it is our duty to make sure that they have the proper environment and resources available to them. Coupled with the aforementioned and the ability and desire to learn, these students will act as beacons of light for our future.
