Funded May 9, 2024A library garden? This modest Spring project has served as an example for our school community. From our custodial team all the way to visitors, we've noticed the little plot of grass that is now a small garden.
With your generosity, our seed library and library pollinator garden has flourished. Teachers at our school have become more conscious about the power of plants and students have the opportunity to plant in their communities throughout Queens: areas that are often denied access to citywide services under the neglect of local politicians.
With your generosity, we explored the impact of urban ecological endeavors and witnessed (and celebrated!) slow growth. The beauty of gardening served as a metaphor that students seek to do: intellectually, physically and spiritually.
With your generosity, we will continue our seed library and replant in the Spring.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Z
