  • Virtual Learning Needs

    Funded May 19, 2020

The resources provided through the generous support of our donors have had a profound and transformative impact on both me as an educator and, more importantly, on my students. With the shift to virtual learning due to unforeseen circumstances, our classroom faced significant challenges in ensuring that students had the necessary tools and materials to engage effectively in online education. The funding we received made a world of difference, and here's how:

    1. **Enabling Engaging Virtual Lessons:** The new resources allowed me to design more engaging virtual lessons. For instance, we were able to procure digital tablets, which enabled us to use interactive educational apps and software that made learning exciting for the students. They could actively participate in quizzes, educational games, and virtual experiments, fostering a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm.

    2. **Improving Access to Learning:** Many of my students come from underserved communities with limited access to technology. The supplies, including laptops and Wi-Fi hotspots, ensured that every student had equitable access to online classes. The joy on their faces when they received these materials was truly heartwarming. It was a moment of relief for them, knowing they could continue their education without limitations.

    3. **Enhancing Student Collaboration:** With the support of donors, we were able to acquire software for collaborative projects and virtual teamwork. This not only improved their digital literacy but also instilled crucial skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. The students were excited to work together on assignments, even from the comfort of their own homes.

    4. **Boosting Creativity:** The art supplies provided allowed my students to explore their creativity. We initiated a virtual art gallery project, where they created stunning pieces of artwork and showcased them online. The students were thrilled to share their work with their peers, and this project was an opportunity for them to express themselves during a challenging time.

    5. **Future Learning:** As for the next steps, we plan to expand our virtual learning horizons. With the foundation laid by the resources received, we're looking forward to exploring virtual field trips, online guest speakers, and collaborative projects with students from different parts of the world. These experiences will broaden their perspectives and expose them to diverse cultures and ideas.

In conclusion, the impact of the supplies provided by our generous donors has been nothing short of transformative. It has enabled us to navigate the challenges of virtual learning with resilience and creativity. My students, once overwhelmed by the uncertainties of online education, now approach each virtual class with enthusiasm and curiosity. They are excited about the possibilities that technology offers for learning, and they have become more independent and resourceful learners.

To our donors, I want to express my deepest gratitude for making this transformation possible. Your support has not only bridged the digital divide but has also ignited a passion for learning in my students. We look forward to a future filled with more innovative and impactful virtual learning experiences, thanks to your generosity.”

  • We Are Back in the Classroom!

    Funded May 4, 2021

I am thrilled to share with you the incredible impact that your generous contributions have had on our classroom and, most importantly, on the lives of our students. Your support has enabled us to access essential classroom supplies, transforming the learning experience for our young minds.

The new resources you provided have played a pivotal role in enhancing our teaching methods and engaging our students in innovative ways. One of the most exciting moments in our classroom was when we introduced a hands-on science project utilizing the materials you helped us acquire. Our students' reactions were nothing short of priceless.

We embarked on an exciting journey with these supplies by delving into the world of robotics. The students, initially curious but somewhat unsure of what to expect, were filled with anticipation as we unveiled the assortment of robotics kits and materials that your donations allowed us to purchase. They gazed in awe at the array of colorful wires, sensors, and small mechanical components that would soon become the building blocks of their own robotic creations.

The moment they began working on their robots was magical. I witnessed their faces light up with excitement as they carefully connected wires, assembled components, and wrote code to bring their robots to life. The hands-on experience not only made science and technology concepts come alive but also fostered teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills among the students.

As the days progressed, I observed a transformation in our classroom dynamics. The once quiet and reserved students became active participants in discussions, enthusiastically sharing their ideas and solutions. They eagerly collaborated with their peers, offering help and encouragement when challenges arose. Your donations didn't just provide supplies; they cultivated a sense of empowerment and enthusiasm for learning.

One particular project that stood out was the design and construction of autonomous line-following robots. Armed with sensors, microcontrollers, and your supplied materials, our students embarked on this challenging task. They spent weeks planning, testing, and refining their robots' algorithms to navigate a complex, winding path. The enthusiasm in the classroom was palpable as they competed in friendly races to see whose robot could follow the line most accurately.

The impact of your support extended beyond science and technology. We integrated these materials into various subjects, including art and mathematics. The robotics kits allowed us to explore the intersection of creativity and technology, with students designing and building robots that could draw intricate patterns and shapes, combining artistic expression with programming logic.

In mathematics, your generosity enabled us to create a series of interactive math games and puzzles. These hands-on activities not only made learning math concepts more engaging but also improved the students' problem-solving skills and mathematical confidence. The colorful manipulatives and visual aids you provided have made abstract math concepts more tangible and accessible to our learners.

Seeing the joy on our students' faces as they embraced these materials has been immensely rewarding. They have become more curious, more confident, and more excited about learning. Your impact extends far beyond the classroom; you have ignited a spark of curiosity and enthusiasm for education that will stay with these students throughout their lives.

Looking ahead, the next steps for our students involve expanding their horizons even further. We plan to use the remaining funds to introduce them to coding and programming languages, a skill that is increasingly essential in our rapidly evolving world. By incorporating coding into our curriculum, we aim to equip our students with the tools they need to thrive in the digital age.

Additionally, we intend to host a robotics and science fair, where our students will showcase their innovative projects to parents and the wider community. This event will not only celebrate their achievements but also inspire younger students to explore the exciting world of science and technology.

In conclusion, your support has been transformative for our classroom and our students. You've empowered them to explore, create, and dream. You've given them access to resources that have opened doors to new opportunities and fostered a love for learning. We are profoundly grateful for your generosity, and we look forward to the amazing journey of discovery that lies ahead for our students, thanks to your unwavering support.”

  • Organizing Our Supplies

    Funded Dec 17, 2019

The clipboards have been so usefull to my students on Thursdays, now they can be able to carry their worksheet with out missing them or foulding them. Now they have the support to work in their Community Base Instruction.

Headphones can help keep the user calm and some can even reduce noise levels to about 25 decibels. However, this does not mean that the user can no longer hear anything going on around them, the noise is simply reduced to a level that is more manageable.

Thanks to the seat storage, they make it easy to see what is stored in them. This helps us, the student and the teacher to save time.”

  • The LEGOs for My Jellos!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

We have used the LEGOS to create! Weekly we do reading as a group and after we finish I ask my student to build something that represent part of the reading that we did. As their hands manipulate and test the blocks, other things are brewing in those young, pliable minds. They are building their spatial abilities, the ability to visualize and plan three-dimensional objects. The bricks themselves are excellent tools for teaching math concepts: addition and subtraction, multiplication, fractions, measurement and even algebraic concepts. My students where in shock when they saw the LEGO boxes! One of my student said, "Wait a minute? Are does LEGO boxes? Now we have LEGOS? We appreciate the LEGOS donations.”

My students need to work in small groups for both reading and math. These items would allow for my classroom to function better, and they would allow me to direct them better as group. The tables offer a nice surface for us all to see eachother, and the chairs are the appropriate size for the growing children in my class. Teamwork and cooperation is something that we are striving for, and these supplies would encourage us to all work together. Sitting at individual desks is not benefical for my students who need the room to move around and the chance to work together. With your help, I hope to make learning more fun and engaging.
