Fifty year old classroom library. I am finding books dated back to the 1960's. I would like to expose and introduce my students to updated literature across genres with special emphasis on multicultural literature. This includes a wide variety of children’s literature texts (e.g., narrative, expository, and poetry). I will use these materials to positively impact students’ knowledge, beliefs and engagement with the features of diversity. This includes using children’s literature to recognize, understand, and value diversity that exists in society and the importance of learning to read and write.
