The tiny room explodes with enthusiastic learners all chattering with one another. The class is filled with caring and compassionate students. Students come from all sorts of background and experiences. Amongst the group of 30, there are several students with learning disabilities and two students with severe Dyslexia. Their disabilities hinder them in the areas of reading and writing. By Sixth Grade the gap is apparent to all. I'm blessed to work in a community where all the students are supportive of one another, but that doesn't stop students with learning disabilities from falling behind, developing low self-esteem, and feeling negative towards school.
