  • Take a Seat: Science Lab Stools!

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

What a gift to head into the New Year knowing every table in the lab will have stools!

Why is that so important? We are so fortunate to receive some new coding tools and students will work in table groups - these stools will set up my little scientist for SO much success.

Thanks for sharing the mission for great STEM education here in the Baystate. I share with you what I share with all donors - UBUNGANI. The Zulu work for friendship more closely translates to: "Like pebbles in a stream, we polish one another," thanks for shining us up in 2025!"”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jami

  • Books that Provide Mirrors, Windows, and Sliding Doors!

    Funded Oct 6, 2024

Have you ever opened a book and read a few lines and been transported? These texts have added vibrant locations and descriptions for my students of places that remind them of home - as well as share new and exciting science concepts.

Books are such a necessary space of any classroom, but there's really something magical about being able to share books that bring us all around the world, to see and learn like the scientists and researchers they are.

I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to share the stories of this cultures that blanket our classroom and have true I SEE ME moments with my kindergarten and 1st grade students!

Thanks for seeing us, so we can see ourselves! The Zulu people have a word for friendship - UBUNGANI, but it more closely translates to the sentiment, "like pebbles in a stream, we polish one another," thanks for shining us up!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jami

  • Reading Basics: Phonics & Fun!

    Funded Dec 19, 2021

Due to new district policies, it's been challenging to get to use these materials and also to write new projects - so my apologies for the delays here. My students are LOVING their phonics block! It's so gamified now! They are having a BLAST!

This program is interactive, and easy to use and all learners of all levels can engage in the fun phonics work.

The digital component of this program has been a game-changer to see their progress and growth over time I'm so exceptionally grateful for your generosity. It means books in children's hands, it means phonics support where it is so desperately needed. THANK YOU!”

  • The Power of the Pencil and the Book!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

We have paused our current read-aloud for my student teacher to take over her lead teach - I share this because every day we are away from Wondla...students beg for us to return!

I love when a book really captivates students, and being able to draw alongside the story is really important. Thanks for supporting a project that puts such a wonderful story in the hands of every learner in my room.

All my learners are able to engage, even though for most it's above their grade level for reading, the story is captivating them! Thanks for sharing the joy of reading with all my students.”

  • Texts to Connect, Texts to Tell the Stories!

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

Found in the pages of the texts are windows, mirrors, and doors to stories that are both different and the same as the stories we are living. We can not say thank you enough for the kindness and joy you've shared in the pages of these books. These books have already been read and reread, shared with buddies and exchanged among friends within our room, we feel so grateful. There simply are never enough books to help us discover the world around us. Thanks for sharing for sharing your brilliant light in these texts with us. We are so enjoying the stories and your generosity,”

    With gratitude,

  • Extra, Extra, Read All About It!

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you! Donors we are so thankful for your continued support of our classroom and our learners. Our students are receiving their scholastic news monthly and are over the moon thrilled to be learning about everything from science like animals to the more social sciences like celebrating New Year and a variety of different countries as well as our beloved Dr. Martin Luther King junior.

I know my students enjoy not just the pieces that we work on and learn with at school with the digital components supporting their understanding; but also, really appreciate being able to have a tangible piece to take home and share with their families around what they're working on and learning at school.

One of the exciting things that have come out of having scholastic news is that I'm able to work with more small groups with my student teacher this semester she's able to take a small group and work with them on something specific and then I can work with small groups to get to know more in-depth about what is available in a piece of scholastic news. Not to mention the added bonus of being able to have magazines in the classroom that students can come to return to if they're really excited about a topic thanks for sharing the joy of learning and reading with my students they are unendingly grateful.”

  • Creating a Safe Class Family Environment!

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Thanks so much for helping us stay healthy and safe! We get the MOST use out of the mask dispenser and we are grateful that students can get up and get a new mask whenever they need it. It allows us to not interrupt learning and be able to keep everyone masked. As well, our tissues container allows students to be able to get what they need without interrupting. We are unendingly grateful for your generosity that allows us to keep the classhome running and student-centered. These items didn't just appear however, there was a lot of excitement what's that around their arrival and the students are likely even more excited than I can share.”

  • CTRL + ALT + ADD: New Tech for New Learning!

    Funded Sep 14, 2021

Technology DREAMS do come true! I am so exceptionally grateful for our new works space that allows me to move around untethered in our room to support students from all areas. The wireless mouse and keyboard have been a game-changer. We are so happy to have the ability to not be tethered to a cord and have to work in just one spot. Now I can move around the room while presenting, or sit on the floor and still access our tech.

Thanks for bringing me into the 21st century and allowing my students to actually be assisted by tech :).”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jami

With students seeking refuge in our town and school for a variety of reasons , students arrive with great need, and limited experiences. Our school is small and in that way, we are a family. They are bright, funny and so eager to learn - and we love helping them making connections.
