Thank you for giving to this project. I am so grateful for the individual donors and organizations that helped fund this project. I can't wait to learn more about the legal issues facing schools so, I can be a stronger advocate for my students. Thank you for caring about my professional development.”

  • More Snacks and Pull-Ups, Please!

    Funded Oct 24, 2024

Thank you again for these supplies. They are essential to meeting my students' personal care needs. We use pull-ups everyday with students who are not toilet-trained, yet. Pull-ups are designed to help students transition from diapers to underwear.

In addition to the pull-ups, we use the fruit snacks everyday. Students usually eat them during snack time but sometimes the snacks are used as a reward/incentive for completing work and other positive behavior. Thanks for making sure we have the supplies we need to keep students dry, well-fed, clean and nourished.”

  • Representation Matters- Diverse Books Needed

    Funded Jan 8, 2025

Thank you for these amazing books. It was so exciting to read about Chinese New Year with my students. I really enjoyed the pictures of dragons and think my students did as well.

We recently opened the black history books. Although Black History Month is over, students can still learn about important figures in African-American history including, President Barack Obama and famous baseball player, Jackie Robinson.

One of my students loves the book, Pepe and the Parade: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage. I'm considering sending the book home with him for the summer!

My students and I also enjoyed the books about children with Autism.”

  • Classroom Refresh

    Funded Jan 1, 2025

Thank you for supporting this project. My students love the Llama Llama stuffed animal and enjoyed hearing the Llama Llama Red Pajama story. I even had students color corresponding coloring sheets. Everyday, my students enjoy the fruit snacks.

My staff and I use the baby wipes and gloves everyday to support students with toilet training. We also use the wipes to clean students' hands and faces.

I am so grateful to have had this project funded mid-year, as our supplies began to run low. Thanks for making this possible.”

  • Alphabet Mystery Fun!

    Funded Oct 21, 2024

Thank you for bringing these engaging materials into our classroom! My students really enjoyed using the alphabet mystery box. They were able to find objects like a small kite and bicycle. I used these objects to connect to the letter and sound of the week. The mystery box is a great tool because students can use it independently or with the support of a teacher. Similarly, students can use the number and letter puzzles by themselves or with a staff member.

I love the Alphabet Mystery book. It helps students learn letters outside of the sequential order. This engaging story is a new classroom favorite.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Fuller

  • Innovative Virtual Field Trip

    Funded Nov 23, 2024

Thank you for the opportunity to visit the Georgia Aquarium, virtually. My students were so excited to learn about sea animals. During our trip, we saw a variety of fish and other animals such as sharks. We learned about life cycles and animal habitats.

In addition to the trip, we received copies of the book titled, My Visit to the Aquarium. We read this book to prepare for the virtual field trip. Students really enjoyed this book and still like to read it after the trip has taken place. I can't wait to share this book with future students.”

  • Personal Care for PreK: Part 2

    Funded Oct 22, 2024

Thank you for your generosity. Thanks to your support, my students had the pull-ups they needed to assist with toilet training. Having spare pull-ups takes pressure off parents to provide them or to remember to send them in. We use pull-ups everyday.

In addition to the pull-ups, this project included a laminator and laminating sheets. We use the laminator to seal and preserve a variety of materials including, picture schedules. We used the laminating sheets from this project to create picture communication icons. Students were able to request things including, snacks and necessities such as the bathroom. These icons are used daily. I'm so grateful to all of the donors for making this communication possible.”

I have a preschool autism class in Washington, DC. My school is a Title I school with 99% of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. My students are amazing! Each is only three or four years old but brilliant in his own right. One is very vocal and receives time in the general education classroom. Another has gone from saying three words at the beginning of the year to speaking in complete sentences. Others are learning to use the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) to express their needs. I love the way my students work together in play center and I am proud of the way they have welcomed new students into our class!
