Small Group Reading
Funded Jan 14, 2025Thank you for providing us with Elkonin boxes, whisper phones, pencil grips, mesh bags, and reading tools. All of these items help us to read and write. We spend an hour on reading centers every day. While I am teaching a small group of students, the rest of the class is spread around the room engaged in independent reading, writing, and spelling activities. Students us the whisper phones to read to themselves. It allows them to hear their voice as they read. The reading tools help beginning readers track the words of a book. The materials you have provided will be color coded and compiled in the mesh zipper bag. These items will make small group reading fun!
Thank you for your donation. These materials will be an integral part of our reading centers.”

Funded Jan 16, 2025Thank you for purchasing 101st Day of School shirts, costumes, and dog bone graham crackers for our classroom. This was a very unique day! Elementary teachers typically celebrate the 100th Day of School, but few celebrate the 101st Day of School. We celebrated this day in many ways. First, we dressed as 101 Dalmatians by wearing matching Dalmatian shirts and the Dalmatian ears and tails you have provided for us. The kids were so cute! Next, we had 101 minutes of math, reading, and writing fun. We wrote 101 words, wrote our numbers to 101, and made towers by stacking 101 cups. We finished the day by eating Scooby-Doo graham crackers shaped like dog bones.
This was an extremely fun day! Thank you for supporting our project.”

Funded Jan 2, 2025Thank you for providing us with multicultural books for our school book vending machine. Books with characters that look like you are important because they provide a sense of representation, validating your identity, fostering a feeling of belonging, and allowing you to connect deeply with the story by seeing yourself reflected in the narrative, especially for individuals from marginalized communities who may not often see themselves depicted in literature.
These multicultural books, were placed in the school's book vending machine. Every month, two students from each classroom earn the opportunity to retrieve a book from the machine. These books are on such popular topics that students look forward to going to the vending machine.
Thank you, again, for these books. My students enjoy learning and they are excited to read these books.”

Funded Jan 1, 2025Thank you for funding our project. Third through fifth graders at our school can try out for the school basketball team. Our team is highly successful as they are former district champions. Currently there are not enough uniforms for the entire to team to all wear a jersey at the same time.
You have provided our basketball team with shooter shirts. These are shirts worn over jerseys while players are warming up. It keeps their muscles warm and allows players to be ready for the game.
