  • New Classroom

    Funded Oct 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations! Our students love the new series books in our classroom! Many of the books introduced lessons that show character change, feelings, and the lesson the character learned. Students are able to connect to the books through their own experiences.

Everyday we incorporate "Independent Reading" time in our schedule for 25 minutes. Students understand the expectations during this time. Some examples are pick a book you can read during this time, book shop if have read all the books in your book bag, and remain at the level 1 (no talking/silent).

In particular, all most all the students have read a book from the Eerie Elementary series. Some are even asking for more books from the series.

Thank you again for making a difference in our classroom library!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Vione

  • Avid 4th Grade Readers Need More Books

    Funded Nov 6, 2021

Thank you for all the new books for our classroom! We have been reading our books during independent reading time. The books have helped us grow as readers. We have even went up in our individual reading levels.

We have been enjoying our new books! One of our students loved reading "Wonder" by Rj Palacio. When he was done reading, he went back and re-read his favorite parts because he did not want the book to end. Other students claimed that the Magic Tree House and The Babysitters Club were their favorite series.

We will continue our love for reading throughout the rest of the year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Vione

Our 4th graders love ready and are eager to learn. We would love to fill our classroom library with new books that our students are interested in. Our classroom library is limited. The books are not on grade level. Some books are ripped and falling apart. With these books, we will be able to inspire all students to love reading and build important reading skills! By filling our library with fiction and non-fiction texts between a level M to a level S, we will be able to create a space where all of our fourth grade students can participate in book talks, book clubs, and more with their peers.
