  • Holes Literacy Project

    Funded Mar 6, 2024

A heartfelt thank you to all our incredible donors for supporting the 'Holes Literacy Project'! Your generosity is helping to cultivate a love for reading and learning among our students. Together, we're making a meaningful difference in their educational journey and in their writing activity. Being able to have access to the book provides students with access to evidence to support their ideas and details of their writing project. Thank you for believing in the power of literacy and support my students throughout this reading journey.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Villalva

  • Headphones for Devices

    Funded Feb 7, 2024

Thank you to all our amazing donors for making 'Headphones for Devices' possible! Your generosity will enhance learning and enjoyment for many of my students. Most of my students have been using headphones from 4 years ago and were super outdated. The headphones we received were able to foster interactive learning. My students were able to thrive during their assessments and activities without any bumps on the road. The students who were most grateful for these were a pair of twins who would have to share their headphones everyday, now they each have their own! We're grateful for your support!”

  • Essential Writing Tools

    Funded May 19, 2023

Thank you for your help and resources that you have shared with our wonderful classroom. My students are so happy and grateful to have writing materials that they can use everyday to be successful during our ELA block. Students have been able to use materials to highlight and annotate a text, that they then use to write paragraphs to demonstrate their learning.

My students are able to use all these materials not just for English class but for Spanish class as well. My students feel so lucky to have these materials because it allows them to keep learning and putting that knowledge onto paper.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Villalva

  • Clean and Healthy

    Funded Oct 26, 2023

Thank you so much for being so kind in donating your resources to our small classroom. We really needed these items! Students need things as small as tissues to be able to work through common allergies. Students were also able to use their supplies to keep their desks clean and germ free.

Students were really happy to be able to clean their desks with something other than a paper towel and water. My students are now able to use their desks for math activities where they can add/subtract/multiply/divide using expo markers. And then when they're done they can wipe clean with their new classroom cleaning supplies.”

  • New Library Books

    Funded Jan 22, 2024

My students and I were so happy to receive these wonderful books. There were very excited that we were gifted books in English and Spanish. When reading these books students were able to explore reading strategies such as summarizing, asking, and answering questions. There also able to find main idea and details during small group activities.

When reading these books my students were at the carpet, sitting with a partner, taking turns reading the books and seeing the similarities between the English and Spanish copies. They just love reading and promised to take good care of these books!”

  • Presentation Project

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

My students were so happy when the materials got here. My students and I have used these materials almost everyday. Especially the podium, they were so happy to be able to have something to sustain their work while they present. They have definitely built their confidence in public speaking. We were able to use these resources in our end of school year presentations about the Solar System. Some students made dioramas while others created PowerPoints. We hope to continue our public speaking projects with more topics in the future. This is all thanks to your contribution. We appreciate you so much!”

  • Reading Essentials

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Firstly, I would like to thank you again for your generous contribution to our Dual Immersion classroom. My students have been beyond grateful for these donations. I was able to use these resources to give back to my students to help their reading and comprehension skills. I gave them the materials to help them be successful readers. Students have been using them nonstop!

When they first saw the materials they started cheering so loud! They really enjoy the stickers. One way they are able to use them is annotating texts. They highlight or mark their papers with stickers to show they understand the text. They are also able to use their emoji erasers whenever they use their whiteboards for math. It makes activities more exciting to accomplish.

Our next steps as a classroom is to continue using these materials to not only become better readers, but writers. We plan on expanding skills and materials into writing essays in the near future.”

  • Art Project

    Funded Sep 5, 2022

My students and I have been using the new resources for art. We don't get to use paint often but for this project it was fully used and appreciated. For example we were able to celebrate the day of the dead holiday. We built an altar and students were able to use the art resources to make small alters to honor a family member. We were also able to use the art resources to participate and win a Halloween pumpkin art project.

Students were very excited and happy to use these new materials for a cultural event. It benefited them in many ways!”

  • A Place For Books

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

The students are really happy with how our classroom library looks. I learned that if things looks good and organized, the students are more inclined to visit our library. Students used to complain how it was hard to take books out and put them back because of how cramped everything was. But now there's enough space to do that and they're so happy with how easy it is to choose a book.

When my students first saw the bookshelves they said "Wow!" They walked straight directly and started exploring. Now during small group instruction when we do rotations of centers, they are so excited for reading time. They are excited to visit our classroom library and that makes me really happy.

Now that we have more space for books, I think it would be okay to get more books and continue to expand our classroom library. Thanks to you all we have the opportunity to fill up some shelves with reading essentials.”

  • Essential Books

    Funded Aug 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations. We are beyond happy with these new reading books. Thanks to these new books students are able to expand their reading abilities.

We do reading every day in our classroom. We read our Spanish curriculum in the morning and English in the evening. But students still need and want more practice with different books. Thanks to this project my students have a variety of options to read from. We have been able to get together on the carpet and read these books together.

I definitely see an impact on student's fluency in Spanish and English. Thanks to these books my students get to learn how to read better and have fun while doing it. They read these books mostly during small group instruction. They either read independently, with a partner, or even a group. My students love reading to each other. Now they have so many options to choose from.”
