Guided Reading !
Funded Mar 27, 2018What a great feeling it is to have people who care so deeply for children and teachers! I am still shocked and amazed by the funding for this project. Small yet needed; the materials from this project helped to build our very own guided reading library.
We have already gotten a chance to use books like "It Looked Like Spilt Milk" and "Sammy" in guided reading groups. My students were so excited to read new books in their groups. They were so gentle with the books, so as not to tear or bend the pages because they cherish how new they are. We have a document camera which we hope to use after we get a projector to project shared reading books!
Thank you so much Ripple and Lenin for your support. Your donation has made a difference in my students growth. Thanks to you, we have great options for guided reading and a start to our first guided reading library!”

Funded Jan 25, 2018You have truly made an impact of my students learning this year. In this project, my students received Math materials such as addition puzzles, math linking cubes, ten frames, and the list goes on and on. And to top it all off, we received these materials right when we had started our Math unit on Addition, so ALL of the resources you helped our class get were put to use instantly. From the double-sided counters to the number bean bags; we have included these materials in the students whole group learning and they are engaging more in the lessons because of it!
My students' favorite part of our package was the transportation rug! We placed the rug in a nook area of the classroom and use it for small intervention groups and for play. My students use it daily during the choice time and build cities, use cars and act out scenarios that they think up themselves. We have vehicles with numbers on them and use the rug to drive the number vehicles to form number sentences. There are so many endless ways that this rug can be used for and we are so excited to have it in our classroom.
We are so grateful for each person that donated, or passed this project along to someone, or just wished us luck in achieving our project goal! It is because of your love and generosity that my students will continue to flourish in their math learning.”

Ms. Villafane

Funded Aug 30, 2017Thank you so much for your support and generosity! My students came into the classroom on the first day of school seeing a simple library set up and over a couple of days it transformed into their favorite part of the classroom. Although the library has not been opened for the students to enjoy just yet, they are already so interested in reading in this small library that we call our, Reading Nook. As my co-teacher and I teach into the proper use of this area and the treatment of the books, we've mentioned many times that this area is extra special because of the awesome donors that helped us get all the things we have there.
We are so thankful for this super cozy and comfortable space that you all helped us set up! Our students are so excited to begin their reading journey's and are proud to be in a classroom with such an inviting area. I hope that you all feel as excited as they are, because YOU made this happen!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Villafane
