Support Our Student-Run Food Pantry
Funded Dec 16, 2019Thank you so much for helping to support Mill Market, our school's student run food pantry. By supporting our food pantry, you have helped to make sure that all of our students have staple food items at home and at school to make sure that they are properly fed throughout the day.
Thank you for making sure that all of our students have the resources that they need to succeed!”

Mrs. Pederson
Let's Learn to Solder!
Funded Mar 24, 2019Thank you for supporting my classroom and my engineering students by giving the opportunity to learn how to solder by providing them with soldering kits, soldering mats, and safety glasses!
So far it has been a great experience by being able to provide students with a real life skill that they can use in the future. Some students have already started using their soldering skills to repair motors that we use in our programming and robotics classes.
Again, thank you for providing my students with the tools they need to learn the very valuable skill of soldering!”

Collaboration, Creativity, Communication and Critical Thinking with Breakout EDU
Funded May 4, 2019Thank you for providing my classes with Breakout EDU kits! As we started this school year, it has been fun to provide a different way to have my students in my engineering classes and after school clubs to get to know each other.
Having the Breakout EDU kits have helped my students develop their creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills in a fun and challenge way. My students love solving the puzzles and challenges and they describe them as "escape rooms in the classroom".
Again, thank you for providing my students the opportunity to have fun as they learn valuable skills!”

Charging Up Class Time!
Funded Feb 3, 2019Thank you so much for donating to my classroom project Charging Up Class Time! The phone charging stations have been in my classroom for about a month now and there has been a significant decrease of phone use during class time.
For many students, they have developed the habit of when they come in, they stop by the charging station, plug their phone in and get ready to learn for the day. Because the phones are off my students' desks or out of their pockets, I have noticed an increase in students talking to each other by both just being social and collaborating on classwork.
There has been such a noticeable, positive difference in my classes because my students are able to unplug from their phones as their phones charge up and I could not thank you enough for providing us with this positive change!”

Funded Nov 7, 2018Thank you for supplying my classroom with pens, pencils and erasers, markers, highlighters, and ink for our printer, and post it notes! These supplies are helping to benefit my students as they develop their communication skills. We have been using the large post it notes to make posters of parallel and series circuits and practice making flowcharts as teams as we enter our unit on programming. This is only one example of how the materials are being used. The materials are also being used in other classroom where they are being turned into posters for jigsaw activities in history classes and students are using the colored pencils to color code periodic tables. The materials that were donated to my classroom are not only helping my students communicate, but they are helping many classes and other students as well. Again, thank you!”

Funded Oct 7, 2018Thank you for providing my students with the supplies necessary to write thank you notes to guest speakers who visit us, teachers who write us letters of recommendations, and we will be using them shortly when the Engineering Internship students have their interviews for the places they will intern at in the spring.
My Seniors have been especially grateful for the cards and fine point Sharpie pens because as they finished their college applications, they also know the importance of sending thank you cards to those that helped them out whether it be teachers writing letters of recommendation, coaches helping to get them in contact with college athletic recruiters, and guidance councilors, to let them know that they are thankful for their help and could not do it without them.
Again, thank you for your generosity and support!”

College Bound Future Engineers!
Funded Oct 5, 2018Thank you for helping to support my students as they prepare for college! We put our books in the front of the classroom were we have now have easy access to information about ACTs, SATs, colleges, college essays, scholarships, and careers.
My students are really enjoying the opportunity to flip through the books and see what options are out there for colleges and scholarships. Whenever they come across something interesting, they take a picture with their phones so they don't forget it. Also, a few students have borrowed the books on college essays and SATs and brought them home (and brought back too) to study and strengthen their essays and SAT scores.
Again, thank you for supporting my students!”

Testing out Trusses
Funded May 9, 2018Thank you for support my project "Testing out Trusses"! The balsa wood, cutting boards, and wood glue are going to be so valuable next year as we gain some experience with what civil engineers do with determining the forces within bridges and how these forces are distributed. As we come to a close with this school year however, we have been already using the materials to build neat looking trusses and we are seeing how much force does it take to destroy the bridges. This has been sparking an interest in students and allowing their creativity to flourish. My students are excited for next year so they can build their trusses for real!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you again for supplying my classroom with digital scales and mass samples! So far, these tools have shown to be invaluable for simple, tasks that world normally be taken for granted. The masses are frequently used as students work to get an idea in their head of how much mass something has as they make estimations.
The digital scales are also extremely helpful with their accuracy and friendly usability. As my engineering students work to develop solutions to their Design Challenges, knowing the exact mass of different materials has been valuable. Again, thank you for your support.”

Funded Apr 17, 2018Thank you for your generosity and support! We have had the 3D printer set up for about a month now and in that time period, we have been learning how to use the printer and the software that goes along with it. In this short amount of time, we have already been able to use the 3D printer for one of our class projects where a team was able to design and print a new part in order to meet the needs of their design solution- this is something that we have not been able to do before!
The most exciting thing about having this new technology is that even though some of us are seniors and will be leaving in a few days, we are really excited for our classmates in lower grades to be able to print things for their projects or anything that would be cool to create.
Thank you for providing us with the ability to learn and create with this new technology that we will be using as future engineers!”

Mrs. Pederson
