  • Classroom Refresh

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

Thank you so much for our classroom refresh! We desperately needed some new supplies. The new pencils and highlighters are going to push us through till the end of the school year!

The snacks are going to be so greatly appreciated by some hungry students. The end of the day can be hard for some of them, but now with snacks it will make the transition home much easier.

Now for the fun stuff! The candy of all sorts are going to be great incentives to keep our brains sharp (and a little sweet!)”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Verdin

  • A Treat from the Treasure Box

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to help build my treasure box for the classroom! It really has had an impact on their positive behavior. We have now "random treasure box days" where the students find out at the end of the day if they get to go to the treasure box. This has resulted in much better classroom behaviors and attitudes! They are so joyful when they get to explore the items in the treasure box and are extremely grateful. One of the students exclaimed, " wow this treasure box rocks!!!"

    Thank you again!”

  • A Green Thumb for Everyone

    Funded Jun 14, 2022

Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! The new plants have added beautiful greenery to our classroom and the students have really enjoyed watching them grown while taking care of them. They are so excited to take them home and watch them continue to get bigger - as they are getting bigger. The process of planting the seeds was so fun to watch. They decorated their plant pots and went through the stages of adding dirt, water, and the seed to the planter. It was an engaging way to learn about sequential steps, plant processes, and measurement.

Help from the community is always extremely appreciated! We have felt very glad to have our new friends.”

  • SOL Review!

    Funded Mar 10, 2022

Thank you so much for contributing to provide my students will high-quality SOL review material! I was able to use the gift card to create SOL review notebooks that contained activities and review notes to get them prepared to take their reading SOL. The review notebooks were a great success! The students have really shown growth in the few weeks they have been using them and I cannot wait to see their faces when they show huge growth on their end of year tests!

Again, thank you so much. It takes a community to lead our students!”

  • Box Sets Galore!!!

    Funded Dec 10, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation! My students really have been reading my classroom library dry of books. I wanted to excite them with these new books to encourage their love of reading and these books are really going to do just that. I didn't realize I would be as excited to open these books and they would be! Having nice, new books feels like a real privilege to have in the classroom library. Again, my students and I are extremely thankful for the donation and ready to break open these pages. The true adventure awaits!”

  • Presents for All!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for giving my students the gift of actual presents for them to open at our holiday party! Their impact of receiving gifts is extremely special! Not all students are able to open presents that were thought of just for them, so this means the world that they are able to look forward to opening something that is meant just for them!

These gifts are reaching the entire 5th grade and in doing so, they have a huge impact on the 5th grade. This does not just mean the students - the teachers are so thankful as well! I will absolutely love my new chair!”

  • A Fresh New Classroom to Return To

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you so much for your contribution to this project! Coming back into the building after a year away meant that we needed new materials to make the class look sparking clean. We are still using the cleaning products that were provided to make sure our students stay safe!

We are also loving the Time subscriptions! The students look forward to their magazines and it is a way to practice reading, writing, and learning about current topics.

Lastly, all of the bulletin boards look absolutely amazing because of the new board paper and trim.

Thank you again from all the fifth graders!”

  • Writing Our Way to Middle School

    Funded Jul 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! My fifth graders absolutely LOVE their pencils and erasers to start the year. It has saved us so many pencils!

They are also obsessed with the pencil dispenser and find it fun to grab one for the day. When they first saw the pencil box, they were all excited to start writing! It was such a big hit that other teachers in the building bought a similar one for their own classrooms!

The students definitely needed help with writing practice with the virtual year, so it has been a joy to watch their writing grow!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Verdin

  • Watching the Year Fly By

    Funded May 25, 2021

Thank you again for supporting our classroom! Help from the community always feels so special because of how it impacts my students daily lives and makes our classroom feel extra loved. The new calendar is beyond amazing! It feels sturdy and is huge which will make a great piece for the students to watch the year fly by. They will love the white board feature as well so they can decorate each month. The rug is more than I could ask for because it is so well designed and the students will absolutely love the cursive. Fifth graders love learning to write in cursive so I am sure they will be tracing the letters with their fingers on the floor all year long. I cannot fully express my true gratitude for your donation to my classroom. I am looking forward to being back in person with them in a short amount of time to really enjoy these amazing new pieces!”

  • Standing for My Students

    Funded Nov 19, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my project in the fall! Virtual learning definitely has its challenges, but I have been so fortunate to take back and shoulder pain off the list of difficulties. The new desk has helped in making me comfortable while working, which is essential to being a good teacher. It has really helped so I can teach while standing with to improve my enthusiasm and aides in less back pain!

The desk is simply amazing; it fits perfectly in my office, raises and lowers electronically with ease, and looks professional. I could not be more happy withtl this project.

    I cannot thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Verdin

I want to make a space in the classroom that is dedicated to the joy of reading. The space will be comfortable, warm, and filled with a variety of books. It will be set apart from the rest of the classroom in order to increase the students desire to read. Not only will the library be inspiring, but well organized to build a sense of ownership for the students. I want it to be a space where the students look forward to coming on a daily basis. These are big dreams with big items, but I am excited to create this space for my students!
