What you see is what you "get." In learning this is often true. Students need new ways of looking at increasingly difficult curriculum to make it more comprehensible to them. I teach a class of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students with high functioning autism. My students are bright, eager learners, and most are strong visual learners. Several are also identified as gifted.
