My 5th-grade students will create and build a classroom economy system that includes jobs, banking, and businesses (sole proprietorship and corporation). The requested items such as the LED rings, scented markers (a favorite of the girl population) will be used to supply the "corporation" (our classroom store) with items that will promote a demand. Scholars will have the chance to shop at the store, ran by the scholar who holds the store manager position, with classroom money earned (paychecks) for successful completion of classroom jobs and outstanding classroom performance. The store manager and store assistant will use the jars and storage baskets to create a product display for students and to store items while the store is closed. OBJECTIVES Students will: • Balance their credits and debits • Use a decision-making model to make consumer decisions • Practice making change to prepare for their turn as cashier for the class store • Practice writing checks
