Funded Jun 17, 2016Donors,
I have been able to get rid of the stands that were beyond repair and use these new stands. They have helped tremendously with class and students feel good about having something brand new in the classroom. One of my students said, "Wow, it even smells brand new!" That really made the students and myself laugh and at the same time be thankful that someone thought to donate to our project.
Our students are so grateful and happy about the new stands. I go over every year how to take care of the music stands at the start so that bad habits don't kick in. I have never seen students being so accountable about the school property. They even check each other to make sure the people around them are taking care of the stands.
The next step for our students is to be performing at the winter concert. These stands will be going in our auditorium for hundreds of parents and friends to see. The next thing I would like to start working on is improving the materials in my general music classroom.
Thank you again so much for donating to my project!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Erie Community Foundation and 26 other donors.Reeds Please!
Funded Nov 28, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation! The students were able to use the reeds and they do not have to worry about buying them for the rest of the year! The students are advancing in the book and they are able to articulate very well with the new reeds they were given.
My students were so happy when we received the reeds and so excited to play with a reed that wasn't chipped or split! One student said, "Wow these must be really nice people to give us really expensive reeds!" That was one of my favorite reactions!
Students will be working on advancing their musicianship skills and working very diligently on articulation. We will be advancing in our method books and students will be expected to practice more now that we have attained the resources we needed.
Thank you so much again for your contributions to this project and your care for my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Tong
