  • "Pedal" While We Work

    Funded Jan 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your support! This will truly help my students in the classroom, especially those with that extra energy! I cannot wait to get it and see my students use it in the class!! Several of them have kept inquiring about it daily since I told them about the project.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tiffany

  • Let Me Show You!

    Funded Jun 15, 2020

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this wonderful addition to my online devices for distance learning!! It has proved to be very invaluable to my ability to teach live and taped lessons for my students.

By having this tablet available for my usage, my lessons have "leveled up" when it comes to engagement with the students. Since everything is now taught through videos and virtual platforms, it is difficult to have a shared experience with physical tools such as books and other hands on manipulatives. The Elmo tablet enables me to manipulate physical pages of textbooks and other images which makes it easier to me to distribute information to my students.

Now all I need are my students to physically return to the classroom so that they may have the opportunity to start using this tablet in class.

    Thank you again!!”

    Ms. Tiffany

  • Lazy Summer Days With a Book

    Funded Jun 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my class!! This past summer my students were able to experience what it felt like to actually read for "pleasure" and not for school work.

Two books were chosen for this experience, one fiction book and the other a nonfiction book. The fiction book was by the author Kate DiCamillo, called "The Magician's Elephant" and the nonfiction book was part of the "Who Is" series; "Who Is Malala Yousafzai." Both books were chosen because they were highly recommended, but they were also chosen for another reason. I wanted the students to also learn about empathy and compassion and these two books were great examples of both traits.

My students and I met twice a week for about an hour each meeting to discuss and talk about their experiences while reading. The whole experience took about a month and a half, but it was a wonderful and heartfelt month and a half.

Thank you again for providing my students and I with the books in order to have this wonderful experience!!”

  • Living and Learning Through History

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous contributions!! I cannot wait to start my non-fiction unit with these books!!

My students last year learned a lot from these books, but did not have their own hard copies. Now, with their own copies, my students will be able to better interact with their materials and really get "hands-on" with history.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tiffany

  • Hands and Ears for Learning

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This generous donation is the cherry on top of what I need for distance learning. I can now focus more on bonding with my students and developing better lessons instead of technological issues due to outdated equipment. I am so excited to get started and begin my journey with the new technology.”

Now the students and I will be able to focus on the lesson instead of technical difficulties.”

My students come from a low socio-economic area and over half the class are second language learners. Many of them do not have Internet access at home, which hinders their understanding and usage of technology in the class. Despite their socio challenges, my students absolutely LOVE to learn. They face challenges with a good attitude and desire for more at the end of their favorite subjects, social studies and science. They are also very supportive of one another and look out for one another in and outside of the classroom.
