Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for caring about my students and helping to give them much needed materials.
As soon as I received materials I immediately put them to great use. I wanted more art supplies and learning materials for students to be able to express themselves. I asked for different materials to make more engaging charts in the classroom. We have made charts students can manipulate and engage with. The students use these supplies and charts EVERYDAY to do their work.
When the students found out they were getting new supplies to work with, they were so excited. They wanted to start using them right away.
I strive to make every lesson fun and engaging. It is a great relief to have learning materials for my students. We will be continuing to use these learning materials for the remainder of the school year doing fun projects.
Once again, I thank you so much for your generous support!”

Funded Jan 28, 2022Thank you so much for helping me to enhance my classroom library with books that interest my students. These new books in my classroom library are teaching students that they can read. I have lots of struggling readers in class that do not enjoy reading because the books they can read are not interesting. These books have sparked an interest. I also have really high level readers who love reading. Being able to offer them new books to read is just wonderful.
In my classroom, students are learning many strategies for reading. Some work on trying to read to figure out new words while others work on understanding what they are reading. Having interesting books on students' reading level helps keep them engaged and on task during reading time. They also become really excited to share with the class when they learn new things.
All of my students have been enjoying these books. I asked for a wide range of leveled books so there is something for everyone. Thank you so much for helping to keep my students engaged and excited about reading.”

I Am ...
Funded Feb 9, 2022Thank you so much for helping me to give my students books and supplies that build their self esteem, confidence and self image. My students are young and it is sometimes hard for them to see themselves in a positive way all of the time. These books provided a simple uplifting sentence and discussion starter for families and the class. Students talked to their families and friends about what the sentences meant to them while they colored and showed their creativity.
As an extension to the book, students created their own sentences and pictures. They really enjoyed these materials and I am so happy to be able to have these conversations with students and I heard how happy families were to have a starting point to have conversations at home. Thank you so much for helping to enrich the discussions in and out of my classroom.”

Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for caring about my students and helping to give them much needed materials.
As soon as I received materials I immediately put them to great use. I wanted more laminating sheets and printer ink to create games and centers students can reuse over and over again. We have just begun a new phonics curriculum that includes lots of printable games. I am very excited to be able to print and laminate the games for the students to share and reuse.
I also had the opportunity to allow students to make projects and laminate them to take home. Students and parents were so happy to see creative and fun projects around learning. Some even asked how they can redo the activities at home!
During Covid 19, students were unable to borrow and share items. They are very excited to play and share with one another. They learn more from each other and it also seems to stick more coming from another student. We will be continuing to use these learning materials for the remainder of the school year doing fun projects.
Once again, I thank you so much for your generous support!”

As soon as I received materials I immediately put them to great use. I wanted more art supplies and learning materials for students to be able to express themselves. I asked for primary notebooks, pencils, crayons, papers and dry erase markers. The students use these supplies EVERYDAY to do their work. Students and parents were so happy and relieved to know they did not need to go out and find school supplies. Usually my students share supplies. However, due to Covid 19, students are unable to borrow and share so I was able to provide learning materials to each student and have some left over for students who are transitioning to the classroom.
When the students found out they were getting new supplies to work with, they were so excited. They wanted to start using them right away.
Everyday students complete a fun writing prompt. Most students draw and write really creative responses and I thank you for helping to help my students express themselves and be creative during hard times.
Our school community was deeply impacted by Covid 19. It is a great relief for families to have learning materials for their children. We will be continuing to use these learning materials for the remainder of the school year doing fun projects.
Once again, I thank you so much for your generous support!”

As soon as I received materials I immediately put them to great use. I wanted more engaging centers and lessons for my students during this challenging time after COVID. Each day, our clas does independent centers to help them practice skills they have just learned. Students practice different skills based on their learning needs. Learning through games and hands on activities is the best way to learn. The children love games and toys! I am getting continuous feedback from students and other teachers that this is one of the students' favorite time or day. The students are excited to show off their learning. Sometimes they are able to take home activities and games to play and show their families. I plan to use these centers year after year with all my future students.
I have also used these funds to purchase lessons that are engaging for my students. With a busy world, I do not have time to create engaging slides and activities. With your help I was able to buy them for my students. Our lesson slides are ready to go and filled with color and fun experiences.
Our school community was deeply impacted by Covid 19. It is a great relief to have engaging centers and lessons for all of the children.
Once again, I thank you so much for your generous support!”

Hey! That Looks Like Me
Funded Aug 13, 2020Thank you so much for helping me to enhance my classroom library with books that interest my students. These new books in my classroom library are teaching students that they can be whatever they want to be. It is introducing them to careers they didn't even know existed. These new books are also showing my students of color that children of color are also in books. They address issues that hit close to home and they can relate too. I am able to have deep meaningful discussions with little first graders based on these books.
In my classroom, I use the new books for read alouds. I read the story to the children at the end of a long day. They sit in their chairs or on the rug and just listen and unwind from the day. Sometimes I read the stories at the beginning of the day and have a discussion around the book and we think about the book as we go throughout our day.
My students of color have gravitated to these new books. Most of the students in my class are students of color. They love seeing themselves in books. They love saying: "I do that at my house too. I celebrate that holiday too. I want to do that when I grow up too." The students have HUGE smiles on their faces after hearing quality books. I am so thankful for you helping me enrich my classroom library in a meaningful way.”

Ms. Taylor
