My school has had great success in closing the achievement gap. My students are all curious learners who enjoy learning and experiencing new things and concepts. They are a diverse set of learners whose needs must be met on an individual level. The students love to work cooperatively while creating work samples and products of learning as a team. We love to celebrate student success in huge ways! Our learning environment is closely knit, as we learn together in our rural community. In fact, a very high percentage of our students are closely related.
Our school's Title 1 status qualifies all students for free school meals.
The students' love for reading has exploded as we've created a whole new culture of reading in which everyone, both home and school, is involved. School-wide, as our vision for literacy is in full swing, our desire is to keep the momentum going as we still have work to do.
