Care for All - Building Classroom Care Closet

First, I want to start by thanking you so very much for your kindness and generosity. You have no idea how much this means to my co-teacher and I as well as our kids! We really do truly appreciate you and your contribution to our community. Our students love to "shop" in the care closet because they are able to take what they need in order to reach their goals. Many students take snacks, meals and hair care accessories. The hygiene products are also very helpful because they can take what they need without judgment. We provide a safe place for our students to meet their needs.

When our student first saw the materials, they were overwhelmed with emotions and overjoyed to have these resources in their classroom. They know they can ask to take whatever they need not only for themselves but also for their siblings. It is an open door policy in our class to enter the closet and take what they need. They are mindful of others and really respect each other's needs and wants when it comes to the care closet. They do not judge each other on their choices of items they may need to take home.

The care closet has allowed our students to focus on their learning and education instead of worrying and being insecure of their personal needs. We will continue to utilize the care closet to meet the needs of our students. It has opened a door for them to feel safe and comfortable to ask for help if they need it. We are here to support them in any ways we can and with your generous donations we are able to support them and care for them in the best way possible.”
