Frantic for Fuzzy Feet!
Funded Oct 22, 2015Students and teachers alike were WOWED when receiving these fuzzy feet. No longer are we subjected to the familiar screeching of metal being dragged across our classroom floors. It's like music to our ears or better yet, golden silence.
Thank you for your support in making our classroom much more conducive to learning. Moreover, we are grateful for the money our school will save in the long run because of the durability of this particular product. Our custodians also thank you because this product will go a long way in preserving the floors in their natural state.”

Fuzzy Feet Frenzy!
Funded Sep 8, 2015Teachers and students have raved about the fuzzy feet in their classrooms. Because we are no longer subjected to scraping metal gouging our floors, attention to academics and focus to our studies has definitely improved. Our custodians are also happier to see that the fruits of their labor when washing and waxing floors lasts a longer time. Thank you for helping to improve our school environment and making it more conducive to learning. You have been instrumental in improving the quality of education for us all!”

Huy Project
Funded Oct 25, 2012I would like to thank you for your generous support of this technology project. Although we have had some difficulty trying to connect with our friend, Huy in Vietnam, we have continued to utilize the equipment in our classes and for projects.
Just recently, we videotaped student presentations of work completed as a result of reading the biography of Malcolm X. Some students chose to create posters while others focused on mixed multimedia including PowerPoint, movies and music during the Harlem Renaissance.
Another project that we videotaped was the Blue Ribbon Ceremony where students were called up in front of the room individually to be told how they made a difference in my life as a teacher, a mom or a person. It was emotional to say the least. Some of that video will be edited and used for professional development for other teachers as a way to impact student achievement and build community culture in the classroom. Thanks again for your help and the opportunity for students to grow and learn.”

Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad!
Funded Nov 18, 2009I want to thank you for your generosity. Animal Farm has raised the bar in terms of literary discussion in my reading class. My students have learned so much about the history of the former USSR and its government. They are questioning the different types of government and are really engaged in comparing and contrasting the pros and cons of each. The comments that come out of their mouths blow me away. Moreover, the connections they are able to make between the past and the present are astounding. They even go so far as to apply their knowledge in other contexts (particularly situations that affect them directly like the standardized state testing requirement in our state - MCAS).
Part of my job as a teacher is to encourage my students to think critically, to ask questions and to challenge what they read. Poet Edna St. Vincent Millay wrote, "I know. But I do not approve. And I am not resigned." This quote lies at the heart of Animal Farm which is an excellent text to promote critical thinking. We all have a responsibility to think, but more importantly, to take action! Thank you for your support.

The Blokus Brainbuster!
Funded Sep 13, 2009This is a letter of appreciation to express my gratitude for your generous donation of Blokus games to my 8th grade students. They love the games! Not only are they learning to think more critically, they are increasing their abilities to strategize and gain visual perception and awareness. Moreover, students are building relationships and are learning to work cooperatively in groups. These games have gone so much further than I had anticipated in terms of establishing community within my classroom.
So often as an educational system, we focus on academics and sometimes neglect the social and affective realms of child development. This simple game has bridged the gap and allowed me to literally kill two birds with one stone. Thank you so much for your help!”
