• Creating Future Musicians Through Keyboards

  My response has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the impact of your contribution remains the same. My students were so wonderfully surprised by your generous donation to provide them with brand new instruments.

  Words cannot express the joy that comes with being able to provide students with the means necessary for their musical journey. Myself and my students were so excited when we first received our shipment of the new keyboards. Setting them up and installing them in the classroom really made the room come to life.

  Although this global pandemic has put a damper on our instrumental learning journeys, we are determined to get back to playing instruments again as soon as it is possible. Our beautiful new keyboards will be waiting for our return.”

• Help us Jam on Djembe Drums!

  I cannot express the gratitude my students and I have for your generous donation. However, I can attempt by telling you some of the wonderful moments your contributions have given my students. When we first got the news that our project was fully funded, my students were overwhelmed with joy. At first they could not even believe it (a lot of "wait, really?!'s filled the room). Luckily, the shipment came in time for the start of this school year. Slowly, my students were able to play with brand new djembe drums that they have never used before.

  Before this project was funded by donors choose, my students used gallon buckets from Home Depot to learn basic drumming technique. Although my students had fun using the buckets, I believed they would gain a lot more expertise by learning to play on real, authentic instruments. Due to your contributions, my students now have beautiful new instruments that they can use to learn authentic African drumming techniques.

  My plan is to use these beautiful new drums at my school's upcoming Spring concert. I plan on selecting one of my general music classes to perform an original composition in which they will perform for their peers, teachers, families and friends. We cannot wait to showcase what we have been learning using our beautiful new djembe drums. Thank you again for allowing myself and my students to grow our music department and build new musical experiences.”
