  • Quill! Help! Students Need Goal Setting Materials!

    Funded Aug 25, 2014

Thank you so much for allowing my students to have the opportunity to fully see and work on their goals for this school year. The supplies you helped them receive are priceless! The paper and toner we received was able to allow my students individualized handouts that they can put in their folders to track their progress. We've also been able to use the paper trimmer to cut down for smaller handouts. The 6 traits posters and flip books allow students to consistently see what they are being evaluated in and to focus their attention as well. As the larger tests approach, we are also using the test prep book to continue to succeed in any skills the students are concerned about learning. Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Spucces

  • Inspired and Captivating World War II Library

    Funded Jul 23, 2014

Thank you so much for your help in getting these fantastic World War II supplies to my students! We now have a World War II library that draws in all the students to further investigate the books that are available and to share their discoveries with other students. Being able to have these books available has allowed students to facilitate their learning of fiction inspired by World War II. They are also able to focus on the visual images of World War II with the nonfiction photography books we received. Thank you again for your donation to our classroom!”

  • Engaging and Informative World War II Listening Center

    Funded Aug 6, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my students! They are so excited to use the headphones on a daily basis, and love to come to my room during lunch to listen to other popular novels as well. We were also able to allow them to sign out the audio books when they want to continue listening to the novel, or when they have to read the classroom novel at home. They are able to discuss novels in a more engaging way then when only the physical book was available to them. Thank you again for helping them love novels!”

  • Help Us "Scope" World War II!

    Funded Sep 19, 2014

Thank you for your donation to our classroom. My students were so excited to receive Scope and Junior Scholastic. Every week, they can't wait for it to come in so they can read the news articles and connect the stories to the topics we discuss in class. They love being able to share with their classmates what they have read. They are also encouraged to read news articles on their own, instilling within themselves the love of reading nonfiction. Thank you again for picking our classroom to donate towards!”

  • Excited Eighth Graders Need Traits Writing Materials

    Funded Aug 4, 2014

Thank you so much for your generosity towards my classroom. Because of your donation, my students were able to have the necessary supplies to be successful. Students are actively using the paper as I print personalized handouts for them to use during their studies. Incentive charts help guide and encourage them throughout their learning. Two-pocket folders are encouraging them to see where they have been and predict where their work will be headed. And the traits poster, dry erase paper, and speaker have been a helpful tool to facilitating their learning by including them in the learning process during lessons. Your kindness will not be forgotten by students who were helped by these supplies. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Spucces

  • Captivating Listening Library

    Funded Aug 28, 2014

My students have just been ecstatic about the resources you helped provide for them. They have been able to listen to popular series, such as Divergent, and learn more about the popular, and not so popular, books by John Green. The best thing is that students who may or may not be comfortable reading these books because of any reading disabilities are now able to read on their own time and at their best learning ability.

Thank you for providing this priceless resource to my students and for allowing them to love books without even realizing it.”

  • Financial Literacy By Writing Checks & Understanding Stocks

    Funded Aug 4, 2014

My students were delighted to be recipients of such a wonderful project! They truly learned the benefits of being financially literate and were able to use the books that were also supplied to research exactly what was necessary to be smart with their money. We discussed all there was to the next couple of years, as they transition into high school and are bombarded with money decisions at such young ages. They had a platform for which to ask questions and a place to receive answers. Thank you for allowing them this opportunity! It was truly appreciated by my students and by myself. We definitely plan to do this again next year!”

  • Exciting Graphic Novel Library

    Funded Mar 29, 2014

Thank you so much for your contribution to the Exciting Graphic Novel Library! Without you, my students would not have had the opportunity to have effective and reliable graphic novels to personally look at and use to help model their own graphic novels.

Students were initially so excited because of the new and noticeable presence of the graphic novel library. Because of it's existence, students were able to research and study graphic novels in depth. As they studied and realized different enticing aspects of graphic novels, they were better able to incorporate these skills within their graphic novels. Students were excited to change their science fiction short stories into graphic novels because of their research. Also, they realized that their short stories were easily editable as they incorporated them into graphic novels because students were better suited to understand what parts of the story were most important to include.

The great and unforeseen side effect of the graphic novel library was the willingness for students to voluntarily find themselves at the graphic novel library for not only inspiration, but for also content to read for pleasure. Since the library has been so successful this school year, I know that students will benefit from this in the coming school year as well.”

My students are a widespread mix of reading levels. However, the one thing they can agree upon is my infectious love of books. I find ways to get a novel in every student's hand and encourage them to get novels in my hands as well. This literary discourse flourishes in my students from the first day of school to the last, and hopefully in years to come. Any help you can provide to assist me in my endeavor is greatly appreciated.
