My students love to create, collaborate, and use their imagination through social centers. I want to create a STEM area in my classroom where students can use their imagination to plan, design, and create different things. This will promote problem solving, innovations, and creative thinking! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Some of the items we need to make this center come to life are 3d magnetic building blocks, flexible building sticks, and star flex connecting blocks. With these 3 items my students will be able to enhance each of these areas. Some examples include: -Sort and build objects -Create bigger shapes using smaller shapes with the 3d magnetic blocks -Make shapes using the flexible building sticks -Plan and create settings using different types of magnetic blocks or build them using the flexible building sticks and star flex blocks. -Design maps and build communities or towns The plastic containers with lids will be used for storage bins of our items as well as sensory bins in the Stem and block center. These items will not only help this class but many classes in the future.
