Crestwood's Creativity Stations
Funded Aug 14, 2024I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the generous support you have provided to the library through your amazing initiative. Thanks to your funding, the library was able to receive creative materials for stations after book checkout. These materials are making a significant difference in the library learning environment.
The materials have not only enhanced my students' educational experience but have also ignited their enthusiasm and curiosity in ways I hadn't imagined. From the pattern matching activity to the colored chains boards, these resources are helping foster creativity, collaboration and critical thinking skills which are all part of our school district's Portrait of a Graduate attributes.
Your commitment to supporting educators and students is truly inspiring, I am so grateful for the impact you're having on our library. It's clear that your dedication to fostering creative learning environments is changing lives, and I ma honored to be a part of that.
Thank you again for your generosity and support. My students and I are incredibly fortunate to have your backing.”
With gratitude,

Funded Sep 20, 2022The Stick Together project has been a great motivator for classes in the library!
The students were very excited to see the 40" x 36" poster with over 3,900 squares.
I explained to the students that as a incentive if they followed all library rules that they could each add a sticker to the poster after book checkout. I told the students that I would not reveal what the picture was until the poster was finished. They only clue that I gave them was that it was a famous illustration from a picture book.
I started the project with my 3rd grade classes. I have added my 2nd grade classes. I am hopeful to include my Kindergarten classes soon. After book checkout, each student received a colored sticker and a corresponding letter block to place the sticker on the poster. I would get creative by handing out stickers with a letter from either their first or last name. Students would anticipate what letter they would be getting today!
This project has met my expectations and provided an unusual way for students to be accountable in the library. This project could not have have been possible without my Donors! I am excited to make a Stick Together Poster as a station for my older students. Thanks so much for the positive reinforcement!”

Funded Nov 18, 2016I would like to thank you for funding my Coding Project. Students from all grade levels, Kindergarten to Fifth grade are experiencing this technology education. The coding 'games' that were purchased for this Project allow students to 'play' while learning.
Students are working in partner groups to solve problems. Students in the Lower grades are getting to practice both Math and Reading skills in a gaming environment. Most students love to play games but I have noticed that ALL students are reacting to the Coding games in a positive way. Students in the Upper grades are using knowledge that they already have to solve problems in a virtual world.
I would like to thank you for giving my students a rather unique opportunity to learn through play. Students are much more likely to learn when they are having fun!”

Funded Aug 25, 2015The 4th and 5th grade students at Greenbrier Elementary could not wait to get their 'hands' on the Story Starter Lego set. Each week students ask "When do I get to write /create MY story, Ms. Spino?" The response has been overwhelming!
Students are placed in groups of 4 to use the Story Lego set. One group of students chose to each create their own individual story. Another group of students decided to put their panels together to create 4 scenes to one story. Students used the Story Visualizer Software App to bring their stories to life!
Students will continue to use the Story Starter Lego set in the weeks, months, years to come. When students have a mastery of skills with using the Story Lego set, they can demonstrate the process to different grades.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Spino
