• Revving Up The Love Of Literacy

  It is always a great pleasure to see my student's light up when they see the new resources we receive from donors. They get so excited to start exploring them.

  These new resources targeted the literacy area/ center.

  It has helped spark a new interest in developing their writing and learning their letters.

  Some items such as the magnetic alphabet maze has become so popular that some of my parents are going to try and purchase it for their child to have at home.

  The classic stories and CD's are a big hit in the listening area, For some it's the first time have heard these classic stories.

• Blocks R Us

  Funded Mar 15, 2022

  With our new soft blocks my little ones have been able to enjoy a safer block center where their imagination can go wild. They love to play with the blocks and it has been so much easier on my heart when they build large and tall structures and I know that if they collapse there won't be any tears of physical hurt, but only emotional pain from their buildings collapsing.

  When I brought them into the classroom the children all "oooh and aaah" and everyone wanted to go to the block center when it was time to choose our centers for play.

  I am so grateful for this amazing donation and I know many children will come through our pre-k doors and have a great time with this new addition to our block center.”

• Let's Begin Counting & Sorting

  Once again thank you for your amazing donation. The children were so excited to see what was in the boxes. I made a big show opening each box and showing them "Vanna White style"

  The children love the treasure box with all the different prizes that they can choose from on Fun Fridays. The counters were great and all the children loved to play with them. We have been able to do sorting, counting, and color activities with them.

  The pose and play people have been a nice addition to our dollhouse family, with many fun moments of interactive play.

• Keeping My Pre-K Healthy

  It is with immense gratitude that I write this thank you letter to you. It was so exciting for the children to see the boxes come into our room and then when they saw their things they started to cheer.

  The water bottles, wet wipes and snacks have been the big hit. They also love to get clean water from the pitchers and try to fill their bottles.

  They masks, gloves and thermometer have been awesome because we are still required to mask up, because of the NYS Pre-K regulation we must disinfect all surfaces before and after the children use them so we go through lots of gloves daily. The thermometer is great because our old one would get stuck and not read the children's temperature correctly, which was a hassle when you have a line of parents and children waiting to come into class.

• Exploring our Imagination Through Painting

  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am so humbled by the generosity of the people who give to our projects. It's such an awesome feeling to know people care and want better for our children.

  My children are an active and creative bunch who always have some amazing ideas that they want to put on paper. With this new easel is has been made so much easier for them. Even for myself and my paraprofessional, the handy set up has made partner transitions a snap.

  As soon as the kids saw it, everyone wanted to go to the art center as their first choice It was like the hottest spot to be in our classroom 😀

  I am in the process with the feedback of my students on creating a project for outdoor play and seating equipment for our yard for some Spring fun.”

• A Warm, Healthy and Cozy Winter

  Thank you! , Thank you!, Thank you!, I am so overwhelmed with gratitude. When I got the email that it had been funded I literary hugged my paraprofessional and cried. She thought I was upset when she saw me, but I explained how this project was going to provide so much not just for the children, but for their families as well.

  When we got the boxes we quickly sorted pjs, socks, glove sets and snacks for all our students and those children that had a greater need got some extras to take home.

  The children were so happy, but even more heart warming were the thank you's from my parents who I gave goody bags of hygiene essentials.

  My next project will probably be a collaborative project with my 3K and PreK team for some outdoor play equipment and seating for our play area.”

• Let's Liven Up Our Listening Center

  What can I say?! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I was ill with covid when I checked my emails and saw that this project had gotten funded.

  This email made me so excited that I felt I was a child again during Christmas time waiting for the day to open up my presents and play with them, but in my present day I just wanted to get to my classroom and share it with my little ones who had not used the listening center in months because our old cd player had literally blew out in October.

  When I recently got back, I unwrapped the box and showed it the children, now I have to create a special schedule for the listening center because it is the "Hot" center and everyone wants to go their first 😀❤️🙏🏼”

• Cleaning Basics For Back to School

  Funded Nov 1, 2021

  Thank you for donating to my project. It has been great having these new materials. The kids love the face masks with the different designs, now they like putting on their mask and sometimes take off the ones they bring from home to choose a "cool" design mask from class.

  Having the adult masks and gloves have also been a life saver(Literally). My paraprofessional and I are extremely grateful for these since we go through them quickly on a daily basis.

  With the step stool and hand towels the children can easily reach the hand soap dispenser and grab a single towel to dry their hands which was a little hectic before.

• Back To School: New Beginnings

  These new resources have not only provided my students and their families a feeling of being welcomed to a new school year, but it also has made a welcoming sight for those that walk through my floor.

  We have been able to create awesome bulletin boards and classroom door decorations that send out positive messages to those that stop and read our door and board.

  The magazine holders help organize the children's work and provide a central location for my parents to pick up and drop off our home connection folders.

  Everyone at my school has been positivity impacted by your donations in one way or other.

• Precious Pre-K Graduation

  There are so many wonderful moments that we have had because of these resources, the books have especially impacted the children's point of view, although they are only 4and 5 years old it's never to early to expand their thinking about the world we live in and how we each have a voice.

  The books have taught the children valuable lessons in acceptance.

  The other materials such as the toy chest have helped organize the many hats and dress up pieces in our dramatic play area. Now it's more of a beautiful organized mess.
