  • Confident and Comfortable Girls!

    Funded Mar 24, 2025

Thank you for all the love and support you have brought to my classroom! My 4th and 5th grade girls will be so excited and moved when they find out that this community came together to invest in their confidence and comfort.

I can't wait to share the good news with my students and their families!”

  • Decodable Books For English Learners

    Funded Dec 19, 2024

My students were so excited and happy when I told them that we would be receiving new books. My students are learning English, some can read very well in their home language but they don't understand why they have to read "baby books" in English. I see how frustrated they get when they can't read in English with the same fluency. This frustration affects their confidence.

But decodable books target fundamental skills that build upon each other. So when I handed them out my students, they were surprised at themselves, because they were able to read them. I saw a spark light when even my shiest student, begged to read the decodable book out loud!

So thank you for giving my students the confidence boost they needed, because now their reading fluency has improved and in turn their writing has as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Martinez

  • Cozy Library for Bilingual Readers

    Funded Dec 13, 2024

Thank you for the donating to my classroom. You truly helped transform my library into an exciting opportunity for my students. The books in Spanish ensure that my students will be reading grade level books just like their peers.

For example my 3rd grade girls love reading the "Princess in Black" series. They loved borrowing the English books from their teachers, but because they can't read in English yet, they could only look at the pictures. But once the Spanish versions were delivered, they were so excited to start reading them!

All my students were excited to see the same characters and books their peers were reading in a Spanish or bilingual copy. Now my students can't wait to choose new books every week. Thank you for your support!”

  • Decodable Readers for Curious Kids

    Funded Dec 14, 2024

Thank you for all the love and support you have shown my students and I. With your help we were able to receive decodable books with engaging topics and characters. These new books, came in a wide variety of topics that spark my students curiosity and interest in reading.

My English language learners are in the beginning stages of learning to read. So with the help of these decodable readers my students are able to measure their success as they master a new phonics skill. Everyday they become more confident and fluent readers. Thank you for greatly improving their learning!”

  • Tables for Collaborative Learning

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

The year started off rocky, I was given a new classroom which would provide my students and I more space. the only issue was that there was no furniture. At the very beginning I was given 11 student desks that were old and very wobbly.

When I would assign group activities, students prefer to work on the floor or carpet because they could lay their posters flat and not get distracted by the wobbly tables that were also at different heights.

Thats when I knew we needed tables that would allow students to work collaborate and work together. With your help we were able to do just that!

Our new tables help make our space look neat and put together. It has also opened up the room and I able able to fit more students in a group. I have seen a great change in my students effort to be more independent. Instead of them rushing over to me for help, they turn to their table friends and ask them first. They are problem solving, sharing and engaged in academic conversation more!

So once again that you for helping my students and classroom!”

  • Empathy and Understanding for Immigrant Students

    Funded Mar 3, 2025

Thank you for supporting my immigrant students and I. Your donation means that I'll be able to fill my classroom library with diverse books that speak about the different type of immigrants. I'll also be able to share these books with my colleagues and help start a movement of compassion and empathy for each other.”

  • Engaging Books for Emergent Readers

    Funded Dec 5, 2024

Thank you for supporting my students and my classroom. Books are the easiest way to ensure that my students will benefit for years to come. Especially since they can be read over and over again!

With your help I was able to get engaging independent reading books with fun characters. These books follow a skill progression that builds upon each other. My students feel so accomplished once they hear how fluid they become. This helps them know when they have mastered the level and are ready for the next.

Once again, I am so thankful for all your support and help. You have truly made a difference in my classroom!”

  • Snacks for Hungry Minds

    Funded Jan 27, 2025

I can't even begin to explain how thankful I am for all your love and support. When students are hungry, it's hard for them to focus and participate in the classroom.

But thanks to you, my students will have one less thing to worry about. They'll know that in my classroom their needs are met. And they have a community that wants to see them succeed! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Martinez

I am the only English as a New Language teacher at my school. I often push into a classroom or pull them out into a small group. So our "classroom" is always changing which means we stay flexible. In the past few years we have seen our ELL population explode! Now I have about 60 ELL students who have come from all across the world like Venezuela, China and Kazakhstan. My students are resilient young boys and girls who are eager to learn English and learn about their new home.
