  • Accessibility Tools to Support Dynamic Learners

    Funded Aug 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to the students at Sullivan Middle School. I truly appreciate your commitment to the kids in our community.

With your help, I've been able to provide materials like pencils, pens, paper, movement bands and sensory tools to roughly 50 students this year. As a direct result of your donation, our students have the resources to build literacy skills, improve their access to general education curriculum and experience a great time during our academic day.

It truly means the world to us and we couldn't do it without you! Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Simmarano

  • Universal Design for Learning

    Funded Jan 31, 2022

It's already Spring and we have been so busy using the headphones/microphones daily in our classrooms. Time spent on independent reading time and other digitally-based reading interventions have increased into the stratosphere! Likewise, our reluctant writers have been able to create volumes of essays using the voice typing feature via the microphone on the headphone.

We have been able to reach so many students with this technology and will continue to do so because of your generosity.

Thank you so very much. We are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Simmarano

  • Continue to Support Students with Specific Learning Styles!

    Funded Jan 28, 2016

My students and I are so very grateful for your generous and selfless donations. It is because of your kindness we will have both consumable supplies for the 2015-2016 academic school year, as well as durable materials that will endure for years to come. The students continue to be truly amazed and humbled at this experience.

In the short time we've had them, the classroom materials you helped to purchase, have not only affected my students positively with their learning, but teachers, staff and administration have taken notice of how purposeful and powerful they have made my teaching. The lessons I've created are enriched with meaningful tools and strategies to further reinforce the importance of literacy.

Each donated material has helped us build and maintain a learning community that encourages academic exploration. As a result of our donors, my students are able to access the general education curriculum with increasing independence. We continue to strive for academic excellence!”

    With gratitude,

Welcome to my page! I am thrilled that you've taken the time to get to know the unique needs of my students. Did you know that there are approximately 5,000 students in the Worcester Public Schools identified as a student with special needs? I am a Learning Disabilities (LD) Specialist for Grades Pre-K-12 and am fortunate to work with the students at Dr. Arthur F. Sullivan Middle School this year! The LD Department, for which I am a member, strives to enhance each student's ability to access the curriculum, improve skills, and apply learned strategies in an effort to develop a life-long independent learners. These materials will not only provide my students with access to the general education setting like their peers, but it will also allow them to achieve academic success across each content area! Thank you for visiting and I hope you'll consider supporting our needs!
