Graphic Novels for Grade 4!
Funded Jan 16, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation of Graphic Novels for my students. While the books arrived at the end of time in the physical classroom, I cannot wait to get them into the hands of my students whenever we return from virtual learning. It will be wonderful to have new, engaging books in the hands of students. Graphic novels are such a valuable resource to have in the classroom. They help struggling learners with the pictures to support the text. Students, who are on grade level, enjoy a format that is new and unusual to them. I want my students to be well rounded readers and these graphic novels will be a perfect addition to our classroom library.”

Funded Nov 17, 2018Thank you for bringing this wonderful Math centers kit into my classroom. Today my students were table to work in groups to review several math concepts. While we may have been practicing addition, subtraction, and place value, there was so much authentic learning going on in the classroom. Students were engaged with one another. They were helping their partners, explaining concepts and clarifying misconceptions independently. While I worked with groups that needed additional help, many students really enjoyed the independence of the centers.
Today there was true joy in learning Math. Thank you for your donation. I know we will be using it for years to come.”

Marching Into 4th Grade
Funded Aug 22, 2018Thank you so much for the school supplies. We were able to start the school year with students having the supplies they needed to succeed. My students are preparing for middle school and I have been trying to teach them responsibility with their personal supplies. The pencil cases have eliminated students sharing crayons or losing them in the back of their desks. Students are also able to move their supplies to work in other areas such as on the carpet or in the classroom library. The book boxes have been the best investment in our classroom! They provide sturdy support for students books and supplies. Many of my students like to work on the floor and they do not have to worry about losing a book or breaking a paper box.
I really appreciate that my students have their own individual supplies. They are growing in independence and like to take care of their own things. I could not have provided these supplies myself, but I know we will be able to use some of them like the book boxes for years to come.”

Funded Jun 19, 2018Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my classroom! On the first day of school, I showed the students the box full of brand new books to add to the library. It generated a buzz to see which new books were there. The books have been in student book boxes since we started our reading centers in September. The new books are hot commodities and are frequently in the hands of children.
Reading is a wonderful time in our classroom. Students have the flexibility to choose where they read. Many enjoy laying on the carpet or sitting in the rocking chair to enjoy a good book. My students have grown so much since last year. The new books are age appropriate and engaging. The adventures of Jack and Annie or Fudge have been a wonderful addition to our classroom.
I cannot thank you enjoy for the new books. My students love them and I love seeing them excited to read.”

A New Game For Fourth Grade
Funded Mar 30, 2018Thank you so much for you generous donation. Board games have become a highlight for my students. While they are fun and entertaining, they are so much more than that! My students are learning valuable skills that they can take with them into the rest of their lives. Turn taking, following directions, and how to lose a game are such valuable skills. My students have become experts at some of the games and are teaching friends how to play. We have used the board games to build their Math skills. I'm always filled with joy when I see my students learning and growing together with the board games.”

Gearing Up for Third Grade
Funded Aug 24, 2017Thank you for making the 2017 - 2018 school year start off so smoothly. We have been using the supplies from my project since Day 1. The blue folders have become our classroom writing folders. My students are currently using them to organize their informational writing about animals. Having a consistent folder for each child has made keeping their writing organized and neat. I can ask the entire class to take our their writing folders and within seconds the folders are on their desks. The quality of the folder helps when learners need a break from sitting to write on the floor or carpet.
My students were excited to see all of the new materials during the first few weeks of school. Many of my students were not able to provide their own supplies this year so the donation was enormous. I have noticed the students taking care of their materials a little bit more carefully this year.
Room 305 has been actively learning since the first day of school. Students are currently reading books independently, writing facts about their favorite animals, and learning how to multiply and divide. Your gift is being used each and every day. Having enough supplies for 26 students has made me a very happy teacher. ”

Get Your Listening Ears Ready
Funded Jun 24, 2016Dear donors,
Thank you so much for your generous donation. The listening center has quickly become one of our favorite centers in Room 105. My students get to experience a narrated story from an entertaining source. I think the favorite book to listen to is "Miss Nelson is Missing" about the adventures of a class while the teacher is home sick. I notice that my students enjoy visiting the center because they are learning through rich book and an exciting narration. Each student is able to visit the listening center about once a week so we have shared the books as a class. Thank you for putting great books into the hands, ears, and hearts of my class. ”

Funded Jun 23, 2016Dear Donors,
I cannot express how much this project has impacted my class this year. We have all the supplies we need to get started learning right away. The students enjoy using the different items in the classroom. When I put out new crayons in the shared pencil boxes, the students were so excited! They were examining the new crayons and trying them to see if the color was just right. We have benefited immensely from the chart paper. We have made anchor charts in reading, phonics, and math. Whenever I need something large, I can use the chart paper to support student learning. I think the white board markers are my personal favorite. We use them everyday in reading and math.
Thank you for your generous contribution. We have started this school year with a lot of love and support. ”

Funded Dec 16, 2015My students absolutely love our new classroom materials. They have been working hard to keep them clean and organized. Everyone has been excited to be "first" to try the new materials. We have been using the whiteboards for a variety of activities. Having a whole group set means we can react to writing (we wrote sentences to match the pictures from the book) and learn phonics (writing letters to oral sounds and spelling three letter words). My students have been stamping sight words as part of our center time. We have used the magnetic letters to build sight words and take apart words during reading groups. Thank you for providing these resources for my classroom. It is much appreciated by my students and myself.”
