My students have always tried their best; however, they shine when they are given the opportunity to make choices and take ownership in their education and learning. Being dually licensed, I get the privilege of being able to work with students with special needs. Creativity, productivity, and ownership in a student's own learning is a vital responsibility within the classroom, along with an ever-growing life skill. When any of us do not have the basic supplies need to do our jobs (regardless of what our job is), the chances of success, full engagement, and retainment decrease immensely. Being prepared provides the students with ownership and independence that they can carry on to the tasks being asked of them.
