  • Coding & Robotics for All!

    Funded Nov 29, 2017

Thank you so much for providing essential materials for our new robotics program. My students love building, coding, and running the robots. It gives them the opportunity to use their engineering skills along with the twenty-first century skills known as the four C's: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. The Ziploc bags and pliers assist in reducing frustration when constructing the robot. The camera film allows them to see the progress that they make every time that they build. Lastly, the labeling materials give the students a sense of ownership and pride as their team name is displayed on their robot.”

  • Focused on STEM!

    Funded Oct 2, 2017

The materials that you provided this year have changed my students' classroom experience. Now all students have access to fidget devices that allow them to focus and keeps their hands free for learning. My classroom has multiple technology devices so that they can perform their own research or follow along as I present. My students love the independence that classroom devices give them and are always proud to show me what they accomplished or learned on their own. Lastly, my classroom is a safe and comfortable environment thanks to your contribution for materials such as hand sanitizer and pest control devices.”

  • Rebuilding Sports Program After Hurricane Irma

    Funded Nov 27, 2017

Words can not express the gratitude that we feel as you help us to rebuild after this natural disaster. Your generosity will affect an entire school eager to get back to physical activity, sports, and wellness. I can not wait to tell the coaches and the kids about your support.”

  • Fired Up For STEM! Technology Needed in Science Classroom

    Funded Oct 5, 2016

Thank you so much for your generosity! Your donations made all the difference in this school year. Technology such as the laptop, kindles, and document camera were essential for assisting my students with understanding content and increasing engagement. For my students who speak languages other than English, verbal instruction is not enough. The document camera allowed me to SHOW my students rather than just tell them. This technology was helpful for all my students and greatly appreciated. All technology has been able to remain in great working condition to be used for years to come thanks to your donations for materials such as screen cleaners and protective cases. Furthermore, two of my students favorite additions to our class were the bouncy bands and the Super Science Magazines. My students were always excited when reading the magazines and the bouncy bands helped keep students focused.”

  • Promoting STEM Through Tech, Science Journals, and Books!!

    Funded Oct 6, 2015

Words can not express the gratitude that my students and I would like to express. My students have benefited significantly from your contribution to our classroom this year. The technology that you have provided has given my students the opportunity to interact with science through online simulations of labs that wouldn't be accessible otherwise. The iPad has also been an extremely helpful resource for students with language barriers who recently arrived to the country and are still learning English. The uses for the classroom iPad grows daily and I am thankful for the opportunity to integrate technology into our learning environment. Also, my students are absolutely in love with the new additions to our classroom library. My students are eager to read as these books cater to their imaginative and exploitative needs. My students are instantly engaged in classroom competitions when using materials such as the dry erase markers and buzzers you've funded. Even students who are usually shy and reserved are eager to share their ideas with the class. These competitions serve as great formative assessments to help me gain an understanding of what concepts my students have mastered and what concepts need to be reviewed or retaught. All the materials provided by your donation has greatly impacted our classroom and learning opportunities. Thanks you for believing in my students.”

    With gratitude,

  • Saving Time & Materials in Science!

    Funded Jul 26, 2015

I started this year off in a new school with a new grade level. My students were also newly entering middle school. I'm extremely proud and grateful that they were able to walk into a well organized 6th grade classroom that's able to provide text heavy resources such as articles and much more due to the donations I received from this project. My students enter my class and begin by reading an empowering educational article such as the story of Jordan Romero, the 13 year old who climbed Mount Everest or Malala Yousafzai, the young female education activist of Pakistan. Then my students shift their attention to the class calendar where they can stay up to date on all class, school, and district activities. During lessons, students use laminated materials such as rubrics to peer grade each others' work. We are able to save time, paper, and ink by using dry erase markers on the laminated materials. Words can not express how grateful my students and I are for the funding you all provided to make our classroom a more efficient place leaving more time for valuable learning experiences.”

  • Small But Mighty Materials Needed

    Funded Mar 17, 2015

I can't thank you enough for your contribution and thoughtful words. My students were very excited to receive their new materials. Your impact extends pass my students as students from neighboring classrooms come to my room to use materials such as the electric pencil sharpener you've provided. My students have been able to organize the new concepts they've learned with handouts and graphic organizers that I'm able to provide with the ink cartridges that you've donated. Your contribution has assisted my students in countless ways. I am very grateful that you've invested in us. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shepard

My students attend a historically low performing school and are in desperate need of some transformational changes in how they are educated. The majority of the students I teach are the lowest performing students at the school; they are academically at risk of dropping out. They are faced daily with the struggles of poverty, violence, and low expectations. Despite this, my students are profoundly inquisitive. They are resilient and creative beyond belief. They are light-hearted, caring, and vocal. They process and interpret the world with a point of view that only a small portion of our society has the opportunity to witness. I come excited to work every day because there is so much potential and promise with these young minds.
