Quill You Help us Print?
Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for supporting our project! During this time of distance learning we are having to find creative ways to engage our students. Using this ink, I'm able to use my home printer to create task cards, games, game boards, and projects for my students. With over 160 Title One reading lab students, that's a big project! I know that my students will appreciate the new tools I'll be able to share with them. I appreciate you Vandie, thank you for remembering our classroom and seeking us out to support! Thank you Kleenex and Sonic for supporting not only our classroom, but so many others today!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Shelton

Funded Mar 2, 2020Thanks you SO MUCH for supporting our Title 1 Reading lab classroom! My students love the "I Survived" book series. We have just finished another "I Survived" book and they are very excited to start reading these new ones. These historical fiction books are great because they take real life events and turn them into a story that comes alive for my students. These Revolutionary War books will help reinforce the Social Studies content they are covering this year. Reading these books will greatly enhance my students understanding of these historical events. We have Revolutionary War music to play in the background to listen to as they enjoy the new books. I know they are as happy as I am to have these new resources to make our lessons come to life!
Thank you again Bianca for helping provide us with an engaging and informative activity!”

Funded Feb 8, 2020We really appreciate your support! We are using rocker chairs in our reading groups to give added support and increase engagement. The students to able move as they engage in reading, helping them focus on the task at hand. We are using the flexible seating options as an opportunity to encourage students to work in small groups as they complete tasks. We have many students that struggle with sitting still and still being able to focus. These chairs will be a huge motivation to them. We use Whole Brain Teaching methods as we learn, and these chairs are helping my students as they turn and teach each other, and as they move around the room to join others in discussions!
Thank you again! You have made a difference in our classroom!”

We Think, We Need Ink!
Funded Jan 1, 2020Thank you again for supporting our reading classroom! We plan to use the printer ink to create our own idiom books, poetry books, and personalized projects. In addition, we will be creating task cards for learning games, reading board games, and workstation activities. My goal is to help each student become engaged in reading and writing and inspire them to continue long after they have left my classroom!
When students are excited, they are more likely to be engaged and enthusiastic about their learning. Having access to this printer ink will help me to address their ever-changing abilities and tailor their learning activities for their developmental levels in a new and engaging manner.
We appreciate you and you have made a real difference in our school and in our classroom! Happy New Year!”

We Are Versatile Learners with VersaTiles!
Funded Oct 15, 2019Thank you so much for helping us read our goal for the new VersaTiles project! VersaTiles gives my students purposeful practice while engaging with a fun, although challenging, literacy puzzle activity.
We plan to use the VersaTiles as an alternative to traditional skills practice, as it creates a safe learning environment that increases student confidence. VersaTiles are going to be a welcome addition in my Title I literacy groups because the VersaTiles are so student-friendly. My students will work with various stories, grammar, and vocabulary activities and once complete, flip over their case and check their answer. If incorrect, they will correct and recheck. It's going to be great for independent practice while I am progress-monitoring other students. As 4th and 5th graders, learning independence is so important. These VersaTiles will be an innovative method for students to enhance their learning! Thank you again for your help! We appreciate you!”

Funded Oct 24, 2019We appreciate your support! Being a reading lab room, we do not receive basic school supplies at the beginning of the year as regular classrooms do. By providing these basics for students and for the classroom I will be making sure they can focus on academics and not on the items they do not have.
When we have the basics, we are able to offer even more engaging lessons and a variety of different opportunities for individualized learning.
We plan to use the alarm clock as we move from group to group activities, keeping us on time. We will use the dry erase markers and dry erase pockets during our small group learning, helping us save paper and make fewer copies. We will use foam dice during the many learning games we play each day. The laminating pouches will help keep our supplies in great condition.
We appreciate your support in providing these needed basic supplies in our Title 1 reading classroom!”

Funded Sep 10, 2019Thank you for helping us save the environment by providing dry erase boards and markers for my students to use for written responses, rather than wasting pages of paper each day. We don't receive individual student supplies in our reading classroom, so all supplies are provided by the teacher, and by generous donors like you!
My students are integrating reading, writing, poetry, and art as they use these supplies to share their thoughts and perceptions.
We are using the dry erase boards on a daily basis and the cleaning solution is helping preserve the boards for repeated use. We will use the dry erase markers in many of our projects to help the students share their responses to reading. In addition, the timers are being used as we measure growth in reading fluency.
Thank you for supporting our classroom of readers! We appreciate you!”

Funded Jun 20, 2019Thank you for your generosity! We are excited to have this new color printer ink in our classroom. We plan to use the Epson color printer ink to create our own family history books, #ISeeMe poetry books, and personalized art projects. We are all individuals with many backgrounds, varied family histories, and individual strengths. We need to spice up our learning! Having resources printed in color is more appealing to the eye and more exciting to the students, and gives them the ability to share what they feel represents their heritage and culture. These materials will provide my students an opportunity to showcase their hard work. They deserve to shine! My goal is to help each student become engaged in reading and writing, feel special as they create their life story books, and inspire them to continue long after they have left my classroom!
Thanks again for your support!”

Ms. Shelton
