  • Setting the Stage to Engage in the Arts

    Funded Dec 8, 2016

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! We love the Skeleton Creek novels! They are a class favorite and with these new books, we now have enough for each student to have a copy as we read together. They are engaging and help the students want to become lost in their books! We also LOVE the 3D filament! We have created several projects with our 3D pens and this filament will allow us to create even more! The Hip Hop book and CD will be a fun addition to our poetry unit and we look forward to using it! Thank you again for supporting us! We appreciate you!”

  • Quill You Help Us? We Need Ink!

    Funded Dec 8, 2016

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! We are so excited to receive the color ink for our Epson printer, and the black toner for our classroom printer! We have plans to use the color ink to help us as we create book club projects and reports. The added color brings our projects to life! We will use the black toner daily as we print activities to help us learn! We know that you have made a big difference in our classroom and we appreciate you for helping us become better students!”

  • Backpacks Keep Us Organized!

    Funded Dec 26, 2016

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom backpack project! We have so many students that will benefit from these brand new backpacks! Some students have not had one to use thus far this year, and they are so appreciative of these new supplies! Not only will these backpacks give the students a ways to keep their work organized, but they will also protect their lunches and supplies. Having these backpacks will help these students feel better about school, and give them a chance to be more successful! We appreciate you!”

  • School Specialty Visual Art Supplies for Budding Artists!

    Funded Dec 27, 2016

We were so excited to receive our box full of wonderful art supplies! The kids were happily opening them and organizing them on our art shelf and discussing what they planned to do with each item! It was wonderful to hear them planning their creations and thinking about how they were going to connect their projects to the books we are reading! Our school does not have an art program, so these supplies will be a fantastic addition to our classroom art activities. Thank you for supporting our classroom!”

  • Creating Literacy Experiences in 3D!

    Funded Nov 29, 2016

Thank you so much for supporting our project! My students have been completely enthralled with the 3Doodler pens! They have experimented and created with huge smiles on their faces. Each student learned to work with the pens, and then they chose a project to complete that complimented their book that they were reading. It was amazing to see their total engagement in the projects! We will enjoy using these pens all throughout the year! You have made a huge difference in our classroom and we appreciate your support!”

  • Following the Long Walk to Water

    Funded Sep 26, 2016

    Dear friends,

Thank you so much for your support! My students were thrilled when we received our package, and they appreciate you so much! Our project began with the book, and then expanded as we researched Sudan, created a timeline of the story, analyzed the challenges in sanitation, distribution and conservation of water, and and learned of the plight of the Sudanese Refugees. Then, we will created a plan and budget to raise funds and save money for the Water for Sudan project, founded by original Lost Boy, Salva Dut. We used the video camera to document our projects, conduct interviews and create a presentation to share with other students. We used the guided reading books to connect environmental issues around the world to our project. Thank you again for everything you have done to help our classroom!”

  • Setting The Stage To Engage In Our Environment

    Funded Sep 11, 2016

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! Kids have to buy into the fact that school is indeed very cool! We will "flip" our classroom as we learn about the author's purpose of non-fiction texts as we become chefs and create "author's purpose pies". We will then transform our room into a spy headquarters as we research fragmentation and degradation of the chimpanzee's habitat along with the illegal hunting, which are two of the most significant threats to chimpanzees in the wild. We will study the importance of reducing forest loss, which is essential to preserving the habitat that chimpanzees and many other species need to survive. We will create a timeline of the story and analyze the challenges needed to be met to create balance between the ecosystem's ability to support human needs whilst sustaining the other animals who share the landscape. Our room transformations, including costumes, tools and accessories will help bring learning to life. We can do all of this because of your generosity! Thanks again for your support!”

  • Movin' and Groovin' as We Read!

    Funded Aug 26, 2016

Thank you for supporting our classroom! We love the Teen Core Chairs! These chairs aren't just used for 60 minutes of exercise, they are used all day long! With these chairs, my students are able to be comfortable and concentrate, which translates to better engagement and learning. These chairs allow the students to move, but aren't a big distraction to the students around them. These Teen Kore Active Chairs and Wobble Cushions will help them continue to learn despite their need for constant movement. What a wonderful way to combine learning and exercise! My students love Active Chairs! Thanks again for your contribution to our project!”

  • "The Greatest Danger to Our Future Is Apathy"

    Funded Sep 3, 2016

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! We want to expand our service projects with these class sets of the books "Time for Kids Jane Goodall" and "Who Is Jane Goodall?" Our project will begin with the books, and then expand as we research fragmentation and degradation of the chimpanzee's habitat along with the illegal hunting, which are two of the most significant threats to chimpanzees in the wild. We will study the importance of reducing forest loss, which is essential to preserving the habitat that chimpanzees and many other species need to survive. We will create a timeline of the story, and analyze the challenges needed to be met to create balance between the ecosystem's ability to support human needs whilst sustaining the other animals who share the landscape. We will create a presentation to share with other students. We will use the guided reading books to connect environmental issues around the world to our project. We can accomplish this because of the support you have given us!”

  • Bouncing Along as We Learn!

    Funded Sep 3, 2016

Thank you so much for supporting our project! My students are thrilled! They are wildly excited about the ball chairs! These chairs can be used all day long every day. This far exceeds the 60 minutes of exercise that we had originally been aiming for. My students have also pointed out that they can be used to strengthen back muscles and to keep their bodies from getting so stiff during the day. My students went so far as to plan a chart for rotating the chairs to different sets of desks so that all students would have an opportunity to use them! They also chose a few dorm chairs as alternative seating and have thoroughly enjoyed using them during individual reading time. We appreciate your donation and will enjoy these seats for a long time to come!”
