    Funded Jan 29, 2025

I am grateful for the contributions to this project. Thank you for taking the time to read my project and thank you for choosing to donate to our classroom. I can't wait for the shipment to arrive and for the kids to start snacking. Greatly appreciated. Looking forward to these.”

I am beyond grateful that this project got funded.

I am grateful to all the parents of my class who donated to this project. Not only you stepped up, but you also messaged coworkers and relatives to get this project funded. • Health and Wellness Materials to Feel Safe, Comfy and Loved

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

These supplies are so critical right now, especially in the winter months. These kiddos are coming into the classroom with such chapped lips. I'm so grateful to have a whole class set of chapsticks for these kids. They're all labeled with their student numbers, so nobody is using someone else's chapsticks. I am really grateful for this item donation.

The blankets are being used religiously because it's cold in the class and some kids come in without a sweater. They are warm and cozy. The kids love using them in the calming corner as well. After lunch, when we have silent reading some kids go lay down and cover their bodies with the warm blankets. They look absolutely adorable and safe and comfortable reading their chosen books.

My school is ALWAYS running our of band aids, and so having my own big box of assorted sized band aids really helps. I can put out small fires of skins being scraped or small cuts within the classroom and don't have to send them out to the nurse's office. The anger management books have been read and shared with other colleagues as well. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF IT!”

  • Engineering for All: Activities to Encourage Collaboration and Growth!

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

The book Awesome Engineering Activities for Kids has been going around among my 25 students and it is a very hot commodity! The fourth grade students are working in groups figuring out which activity they want to try and experiment with all the time. The kids have learned to think creatively and imagine possible solutions. In several projects, they drew a plan to guide them through the design process. They worked to create a variety of projects and then went back to improve their designs. These projects really sent the message to the kids that learning can be fun and it's always better to work together than alone. I'm really proud of the work these kiddos have produced and how they think like an engineer now. Thank you donors for choosing my project to help fund. Your generous contributions have been put to excellent use!”

  • Books to Support Social-Emotional Learning.

    Funded May 11, 2023

I was so excited when this box of books arrived to my classroom. I have shared all of them with the rest of my colleagues. I love reading these books to the kiddos because they are such kid friendly words and very easily comprehensible. The students were so engaged and drawn to the illustrations. The books and the topics just automatically lend themselves to continue on with a class discussion about anxiety, racism, diversity and belonging. These are very important and crucial topics to discuss at school now and especially helps to improve our students' social emotional learning. They learn from each other and practiced skits to improve on how to handle certain difficult situations. Thank you for this donation and thank you for helping fund this project.”

  • Promoting Women's History Month Through Wall Art, Posters and Inspiration!

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

These beautiful posters and words of encouragement which was in this project are so exciting and really promote the social-emotional wellness of my students this past year. They couldn't come at a better time. I posted them everywhere and the kids knew where to go to read he signs and say them outloud and believe in the words they were saying. At one point, it just became so automatic to them, that they would help each other by pointing to which quote was needed for which student and for diffferent scenarios. I love them sooo much. Their colors are bright and their fonts are just absolutely beautiful.

Dear donor/s, I can't thank you enough for funding my project. Social emotional wellness has become SUCH a big part of my students' success within these past years. I will forever be grateful for this funding and this project. I have laminated them so they last a long time. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

  • Yoga Balls to Get Their Sillies OUT During Synchronous Learning!

    Funded Jul 15, 2021

When these boxes started arriving, I couldn't wait to show the students what was inside. One by one I opened them and started screaming "one yoga ball, two yoga balls, three yoga balls!" They realized they were all the same thing and wondered how many were delivered. All the students received one this year. It was such a nice refreshing change from their usual blue metal chairs. The kids were initially bouncing on them non-stop and eventually learned to sit upright and have good postures.

We have used them during PE too as well to do sit-ups and push-ups having the feet resting on the yoga balls as their bodies go down to the ground and back up. These yoga balls were something new for my students and after having the type of year they had last year, it made all the difference in the world for their social emotional well-being. I am preparing the students for the upcoming state fitness exam which requires them to demonstrate doing sit-ups and push-ups. These yoga balls have become a great asset to their success as they pair up and monitor each other's progress and chart their performance data. Thank you to the donor's who gave to this project. These itmes will be used for many coming years.”

  • eLearning Essentials to Promote Equity and Inclusion

    Funded Dec 31, 2020

this project and these materials were so helpful to help students be able to block out background noise and be able to focus on their zoom lessons. Many times when I call on the students I can hear so many other conversations that other family members are having and I wonder "how can these kids learn anything or focus on me when there is so much background noise?" It's been difficult for EVERYONE, but I am forever grateful for being able to help at lease a few students who benefited from this awesome project. Thank you so much for considering and choosing my project.

It is exciting for students to wear their headsets and be able to block the noise created by other family members. They love it and wear it proud and feel absolutely cool with them on.

These students have benefited from these headphones tremendously and have expressed to me many times about how they are so happy that they have the headphones. I am very grateful that there is an avenue for us teachers to advocate for our students in a way that hasn't been done before through DonorsChoose.”

    Funded Mar 3, 2019

I am so thrilled that this project got funded. I can't thank my donor's enough, especially all the parents from the community who pitched in and helped. I can't wait to get started on my kindness videos. The kids will be writing their scripts and putting their acting skills on display. Thank you to all that donated. It is truly greatly appreciated.”

  • Environmental Learning Through Virtual Reality

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

This project was super exciting for the kids and they just couldn't wait for their turn to use the virtual reality glasses to discover and explore. The oooos and aws that I heard and the excitement I saw on their faces were priceless. This type of learning is much more engaging than any textbook or poster I can ever show them. I put the kids in groups of ten and was able to rotate the kids during the day so everyone had access to the virtual reality glasses. it was especially informative and educational when we went to visit other countries and learn about other cultures and traditions. It brought things to life and made all my lessons more hands on and engaging. This is an awesome tool for all teachers to have and should all utilize in the classroom. All the students have warmed up to this new technology very quickly, however, I do have a good set of seven kids which are more helpful and are willing to help set up and disperse the materials and print the lesson objectives for me online. It's been a great learning experience for us all together. Thank you for your donations.”

My students, like kids all over the world, are in love with technology! They are energetic and enthusiastic learners when given the right learning tools to maintain their motivation. They possess a wide range of reading abilities and need to go beyond reading "easy" books. My school is a Title 1 campus with high poverty and limited access to cool new devices such as the Kindle. I can already see the excitement in their eyes as I introduce them to a new way of learning.
