  • Literacy Materials to Build Lifelong Readers

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you very much for your generosity! My students were over the moon when they saw all the new and improved phonics materials delivered to our classroom. The items from this project are used daily by every students during small group instruction targeting literacy and math skills.

My students love using the paddle white boards during math work time to solve equations independently as well as during whole group lessons when they need to flash their answers to me. The bright colors engage the students and we love having the eraser connected so we don't lose them! My students also love using the magnetic wands and BINGO chips when stretching out words by their sounds. The best part is when they blend the sounds together and pick up all the chips-it's magical!

Again, thank you very much for donating to this project. With your support, I am able to provide quality and engaging instruction to all students and meet their diverse needs with ease. We appreciate each of you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Olson

  • Scootin' and Wobblin': Flexible Seating Leads to Authentic Learning

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

First of all, I want to start this letter with a THANK-YOU! Thank you for expressing interest in my classroom, thank you for providing resources to help the learning process for my students, but most importantly thank you for believing in teachers like myself.

With these wobble stools and tractor seats, my students are are able to personalize their learning every day this school year! As they are scooting and wobbling all around our room, I they are filled with motivation and excitement to learn. This is because of you! You took a moment to support the learning of our future teachers, doctors, electricians, and much more!

My students LOVE using these seats around the room and personalize their learning to fit their needs. Again, I cannot say thank you enough for this gracious support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Olson

  • Wiggles and Wobbles: Flexible Seating Leads to Personalized Learning

    Funded Aug 14, 2018

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for funding this project. When my students were introduced to the various flexible seating options, the room filled with awe, excitement, and energy. The best part was after I explained how we were able to have these amazing spots in our room, the energy heightened tremendously. The amount of smiles and thank yous I heard fill the room was heart-warming.

Each day my students are using the wobble stools and floor seats throughout the room in every way they can. We have learned how to take turns with the "cool seats" and allowing for us to learn best when we are comfortable. Students use these seats at tables, desks, low tables, and just on their own LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. Out of my 21 students, each gets to use these seats at least once a day.

After seeing such great success and gratitude from this project, I am planning on creating another project revolving around other flexible seating options as well as a variety of math manipulatives for students to use later on this year. Each and every one of you has made my students' learning environment one where every child is comfortable and met at their personal needs.

Again, thank you so much for providing my students with the flexible seating options. With these seats, learning is happening in a personalized way and I don't think the energy and excitement from your gift will ever be forgotten!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Olson

In my classroom, students from all backgrounds are a part of a high-energy, positive, and inclusive community where learning and kindness take place each day. Many of my students come from families who are struggling in various ways which makes home life confusing and difficult. When each child walks into our school, our staff is constantly working towards reaching each child on a social and academic level. We work hard to teach students rigorous academic skills and life skills to set each individual up for success outside of school. Consistent behavior expectations through positive behavior and intervention supports (PBIS) holds our students accountable for their actions as well as allows for reflection and improvement in the future. The projects I have developed will help students learn the importance of self choice and responsibility as well as understanding there is more than one way to learn in this world.
