Racing to a Better Future 2009-2010
Funded Jul 17, 2009Thank you for your generous gift. If not for donors such as yourselves my students would not have the opportunities they have to learn hands-on. When my students get the opportunity to learn through hands-on projects, they learn more and retain more.
My students especially loved this project as it combined building and cars with taking care of our planet. They learned so much about solar energy as well as about other forms of renewable energy.
Thank you again for standing up and contributing to the education of our greatest natural resources, our children!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Schuleman
This classroom project was brought to life by Korein Foundation and 4 other donors.Science Supplies for Super Scientists (Part 2)
Funded Oct 26, 2009Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. My kids are very excited to have better boxes to hold our notebooks. Being organized helps us to keep track of our science notebooks and materials. We also appreciate the hall and bathroom passes. This way we know when someone else is out of the room and can wait our turn. I am excited to have these learning games. It is a great way for students to review and still have fun.
Without donors such as yourselves, I would not have all the wonderful learning experiences and materials my students need to achieve. ”

Photography Club... Making Memories
Funded Oct 12, 2009Thank you so much for your generous gift. We are so excited to have these two cameras. During photography club, students are now able to work in pairs. This means they have more time to practice the craft of photography.
These cameras will help kids way beyond photography/yearbook club. These cameras will be used in science class to record experimental data and to record our work. This mean we can share with other classes and our school what we are learning.
Your gift is a gift that will continue to add to our learning and experience for many years to come. Thank you for helping us deliver the best possible education to my students.”

Ms. Schuleman
Homes Needed
Funded Sep 12, 2009Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. Your donation will ensure that all creatures in my classroom will have suitable habitats. My students will learn how to care for these creatures and develop a sense of respect and care for all creatures great and small.
We are expecting our Green Anoles any day now and now we have a tank ready for them. As you will see in my students letters they were very excited. Science is such a great subject to teach and to learn. And when you can tap into a student's curiosity, you get an opportunity to interest them in topics, careers, and knowledge they never thought they would want to know.
Thank you for helping me give the best to my kids!”

Ms. Schuleman
This classroom project was brought to life by Korein Family Foundation and 2 other donors.Science Supplies for Super Scientists!
Funded Aug 25, 2009Wow, you definitely know how to help a teacher start the year off right! Your gift (especially the pencils and pencil sharpeners) have allowed me to get right to work without having to scavenge for supplies. As budgets are cut, supplies run short. Thanks to your generosity none of my students will ever have to worry where their next pencil is coming from. I will have glue sticks to create and complete projects. I am able to copy rubrics to enhance student performance. The labels have allowed us to not only organize our notebooks and workbooks but give the library a fresh new look.
Without generous donors such as yourselves this would not be possible. Thank you so much!”

Frozen Moments: Captured Learning
Funded Mar 31, 2009Thank you for this wonderful gift to my classroom. Thanks to you I am able to offer a photography club at our school's enrichment time. They were so excited and we are toying with the idea of creating a yearbook.
As you will see in the pictures they are having a great time taking pictures of themselves and I have also included some of the pictures we have taken in Photography club and other pictures of students in science class. They have really enjoyed taking turns capturing their fellow students in action. We are using these photos once we have printed them to create of bulletin board of our learning.
Your gift has and will touch the lives of many students for years to come.
Thank you!”

Live Learning ... Where's My Gecko
Funded Aug 23, 2009Thank you so much for your generous gift to my classroom. My kids have been very sad since our Leopard Gecko Gilly passed away last year. They have been asking since the first day of school if we could get another Gecko. Well, thank you for making their hopes come true.
When you put living animals in the classroom you not only give students a chance to learn first hand about different types of living creatures, but you teach them responsibility and the importance of being humane to all creatures great and small.
We have already had great discussions about food chains (poor crickets) and habitats. Thank you for bringing curiosity and caring back to the classroom!”

Digital Dynomite
Funded May 6, 2009I am so excited to share with you how your gift has impacted my classroom. Last year we were able to take these cameras on our fishing trips and document the fish we caught. I am including a few of those pictures in the posting on this site. We also have been using them to capture learning in the classroom for our bulletin boards.
This year these cameras are making possible a photography club and yearbook. Without these cameras we would not be able to offer this at our school. The students are so excited. I am truly excited!
Thank you again for making learning fun and exciting and allowing me to extend the curriculum above and beyond!”

Ms. Schuleman

Funded Dec 9, 2008Thank you so much for your generosity. You are enabling our entire school to continue an amazing tradition! Last year this project captured the imagination and interest of the entire school. We researched how to take care of the butterfly eggs that were laid and this year with the right supplies, you have doubled our learning. Wishing you all the best for the holidays and beyond!
Best,

Racing to a Better Future
Funded Feb 24, 2009Thank you so much for funding this project. We have just started on this project and I am not sure if we will be able to complete it before our thank you package to you is due. I hope you will enjoy the pictures of the students in the beginning building stages and their notes with the enthusiasm they share for this project.
They are very interested in our world and being more "green". We have talked about fossil fuels and energy problems. Our unit on solar energy has been great and building the cars, the culminating project, has been a wonderful opportunity. Hopefully the sunny weather of June will give us good testing conditions.
Without donors like you, I would not be able to share enriching experiences such as these with my students. Thank you again for all your support.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Schuleman
