My students are in dire need of technology in my kindergarten classroom. In today's world children need to be exposed to multi-sensory ways of learning. The iPad helps to give my visual and tactile learners another way of gaining basic reading and mathematic skills needed to succeed in kindergarten. iPads also allow children to be introduced to STEM activities, which help to produce a higher level of critical thinking skills. These iPads will be used during both math and literacy centers throughout our day. Centers help students learn collaboratively and foster skills for children to become independent learners. Our technology use in the classroom is extremely limited and I would love to give my students the opportunity to have a hands on way to understand the world as it is today.
