Snacks For Displaced Students
Funded Jan 26, 2018Thank you for your wonderful donation. My students are very excited to have snack at the end of the day. My kindergarten students have lunch early in the morning and we are an extended day school. My students start the day from 8:20 until 3:05 so it along gruesome day for them. But thanks to your donation they can have snack and stay motivated to want to learn. My students from Puerto Rico are so humble when they get the snacks. They say, "Thank You", and the smile on their face is priceless. The students from Puerto Rico enjoy the Takis. They don't get that in their country.”

Funded Jan 22, 2018Thank you for your generous donation. Today we as teachers are looking for ways to integrate technology like the iPad Pro with their physical education and health courses. My students are having fun using the iPad Pro during PE. My students video themselves performing a skill. Then, play it back in slow-mo, backward, or frame by frame. The student are using an app where they can draw and record a playback with verbal comments. They are doing group activities during warm ups. They mimic an activity from the tutorial and having fun. They are learning how to play and exercise as a group and learn to play as a group.
This Ipad Pro is a great resource for my autism students and my new students from Puerto Rico. They are using the iPad Pro to translate in Spanish and exercise in Spanish. The Puerto Rico students are having fun in PE using the iPad Pro. They are being exposed to something they would never get from their country.”

Funded Dec 21, 2017Thank you for your generous donations for the iPads. Technology is very important and keeping my students on task is more important. My students are competing with other students who have the benefit of using technology everyday in their class. But thanks to you my students will have fun learning. My students use the iPads for Myon a reading curriculum they have to do everyday. My students pick a partner and they go on Myon an they choose a story to read together. They can listen to the story or they can take turns reading the story. At the end of the story the students have to answer questions to the story they just finished reading.
During Center time my students get to use the iPads for phonics, ABC or dualingo to help learn English. There are so many apps for my students to go to and use to help them learn. My students choose an educational app and use the app to help reinforce what they need help with. My students love using the iPad. They can go on and finish their reading at their own time and don't feel rushed.
Once again we are truly grateful for your generous donation to help my students.”

Funded Dec 22, 2017Thank you for your generous donation. My students are truly blessed to have a donor like you who understands the importance of using technology in the classroom. We are in the world of technology and even in school our curriculum includes technology. The iPad is one of the best resources for my students to use. My students were filled with excitement when they saw the iPad. The students will have fun using the iPad. They can finish their work at their own pace and not feel rushed when using the iPad. My students will use the iPad to learn about weather. The students worked with a partner and found videos on hurricanes, tornadoes and snow storm. The students had to tell the class what they learned about their project. The students were helping each other to find the activities and helped share each others ideas. It's wonderful to have the students working in groups and helping each other.
Thanks to your wonderful donation my students will be ahead of the other kindergarten students with the knowledge of technology.”

Funded Dec 22, 2017My students and myself are very grateful for your generous donation. The vacuum cleaner works amazingly. We use the vacuum almost everyday before the day is over. When we clean up at the end of the day the students take turns to vacuum the floor and the area rug. The students love vacuuming the classroom. It is much better than the broom and dust pan. I have students with allergies, having the vacuum that vacuums the floor and rug is awesome. This vacuum helps pick up more dirt and little particles that a broom can't do. The broom does not pick up everything like this vacuum. My students breath better and our classroom is dust free.
A clean carpet/ floor is so necessary because we meet as a class at least everyday for 8 hours and its important to keep our class clean and allergy free. Students also use the carpet as a place to read. We are all so grateful that we have a clean carpet to use!”

Funded Nov 6, 2017My students are filled with excitement when they saw the equipment you helped fund for us. My students love PE, but we don't have the necessary equipment for the kids to use, but thanks to your generous donations my students will be more physical fit. My students love the jump ropes and hula hoops. They compete with each other to see who jumps the most and who can hula hoop the fastest. My boys love the ring toss and the frisbees. I love the frisbees and the ring toss for my autistic students. The frisbees helped my students with gross motor skills, coordination and patience. PE is very important it teaches my students to be fit and how to stay fit. These equipment will help teach my students to work together, play together, communicate with each other and challenge each other.
